:/ reading these stories is depressing. And since I have a feeling most are going to blame people who jumped I have this fear 'I'm going to be wrongfully judged before I can prove that I studied my class. I know I'm not the best monk, and I'm still leveling/learning but I fee like I'm going to be mocked for other's mistakes and not learning. This almost happened today in Doma castle. First time in and I mention this. People stare and " ..." until the first big pull. The party was relieved and gave tips, as I was running out of TP massively spamming rockbreaker. I used both of my TP refills but TP hates me. More training is needed but atleast the party gave me a chance. I just hope this keeps happening and I don't get kicked for being new. Tho one person earlier told me monk is trash and to go Sam. Which is sad, as so far I'm loving the shit out of my monk.
I had a run after that in the same dungeon and people were really helpful, tho is it just my rotation or are redmages massively more op than monks? I was trying to be number 2 on the hate bar but I couldn't get past the redmage. I felt bad as it felt like I wasn't doing enough DPS. so more training is needed.
There's nothing quite like being a BLM and feeding a healer MP, only to watch that healer die two seconds later. Just, never knowing whether to laugh or cry.
Also, I do wonder if some healers actually know that Mana Shift has a 2-minute cooldown, and that I can't actually feed them back-to-back. And that, well, 20% of my maximum MP is roughly 3k at level 70, and I really can't do anything about it if they manage to blow through that amount in 3 heals.
Just want to apologize to the group I ran Aurum Vale with earlier.
I know I did pretty poorly and messed up a lot. I'm still learning healing and it's not my strongest role. It was also super late and I was super tired.
So if any of you are reading this, sorry. I was trying. I'm not usually that bad.
My advice is to find a FC and run with friends. I mean, this is a MMO. I've personally never liked queuing solo for stuff.:/ reading these stories is depressing. Monk isn't trash per se, but I am planning to main SAM because it just feels like a better MNK. Like MNK was supposed to be the big selfish DPS, but SAM just does it way better. If you like MNK's playstyle, I don't necessarily think you should quit it. Hmm, I'm thinking you aren't using your TP restoring CDs properly. You should use Invigorate when you're around 300 TP and Purification at around 500 TP or so. I think you should be okay TP-wise as long as the other DPS uses AoE as well and you aren't using Arm of the Destroyer (although I do use it when I'm going tryhard mode and there are 5+ mobs).
Yes, RDM is one of the two new jobs and Yoshi wanted them to perceived as strong from the beginning of the expansion.
TBH, these stories date way back before jump potions were even a thing. Bad players will be bad, potion or no potion. And sadly, the overwhelming amount of bad players tend to be "mentors" or people who have played this game since open beta/launch, and think that makes them some expert. I've encountered sprouts that do better than some of the veteran players I've partied with.
If people want to jump potion, that's their choice. I just wish there was a mandatory Hall of Novice sort of thing that came with it to try and teach jumpers the basics, especially if they're a tank or healer. Some will go out of their way to learn and improve, but sadly, I feel that may very well be the minority of potion users (not counting those who use them for alts, since they probably know the basics).
Don't get discouraged by the frustrated ramblings you see here. Don't go into DF with unreasonably high expectations either, because you may be disappointed, but also don't give up on improving yourself. I wish there were more players that would do that rather than just think it's okay to be bad. :/

So I just did a POTD 50-61 and this RDM was complaining that it'd go faster if we would help. Dude was chest farming while the rest of us were at the portal(that was activated). He had the nerve to get angry when we pointed out that if he wanted to chest run to either solo/FC or PF.
When I'm healing and the tank starts sprinting right when the barrier goes down the only thing I can think is "you're about to go do something stupid aren't you?" and I never sprint after them.
To be fair it's not that simple. It's a case of majority rules. If majority want to go for chests, then go for chests. If majority want to speedrun for XP, then speedrun for XP. Though I agree if you aren't willing to roll the dice to a majority rules argument like that, use FC/solo/PF.So I just did a POTD 50-61 and this RDM was complaining that it'd go faster if we would help. It only becomes more challenging if 2 want to speedrun and 2 want to go for chests... how do you resolve that one?
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
There's nothing wrong with any of this. Shinryu's LB comes at a time where you have a million years to heal up before and after. POA is better applied on other things there.
