I had a WHM that would only cast ruin in potd once.I'm leveling AST on an alt in POTD, which is boring but I can deal with it. But what I can't deal with are healers who are now refusing to dps. 2 times I've queued up for the same POTD floor and left with a 30 minute penalty. The first time, I left on the first floor because the healer wasn't throwing out any dps. Just curing when people were full. The second time, the healer only tossed out a stone 2 on an enemy then used medica for the rest. I don't understand why they weren't dpsing? POTD is kind of easy. You don't need to heal every booboo if you just help kill the enemy, it's less damage for the people getting hit.
Ruin
I'm so glad you can't do dumb stuff like that anymore.
I've also noticed BV's oddity with range. Used it yesterday during the final boss fight of Ala Mhigo, and it only hit the tank, not the healer or my RDM friend, who weren't even that far from me. Used it again in the Shinryu trial later, and it seemed to cover the entire platform. .___. I've never seen it "Miss" per say, but it seems to have a very strange range to it.On a second note, these Bard bugs are annoying, what with the whole party buffs not even affecting myself and all. But that's not even the worst part.
I literally used Battle Voice in a 4-man dungeon only to watch in horror as I saw it MISS the entire party.
I wanted to cry in a corner. ;_;
As for the song crit effects/Troubadour not affecting us, I think that was our trade-off for the removal of the damage penalty behind using Mage's and Army's. Where SE giveth, SE must also taketh away. Still think it's kind of garbage the Troubadour effects don't affect us though. :/
Honestly, even at 70, I still miss aspects of the old BRD. My Flaming Arrow, my River of Blood trait (I was an AOE goddess with that), and my lack of oGCD filler (outside of Mage's Ballad). :/ Barrage+Refulgent Arrow is beautiful, especially if one or more of the hits crit, but so RNG I'm not sure if it's practical to base an opener around it versus Barrage+Empyreal Arrow. Still messing around with openers trying to see what works now... (And trying to break the habit of using Straighter Shot procs on Straight Shot.)
Also, I miss my offensive cooldowns. :c
Decided today to level some SAM, and I wanted to get to level 51 in PotD so I could attempt to DF into actual dungeons, but the power went out. I used my phone as a hotspot to finish the set of floors I'd literally just spawned in on. Apologized to the group for my disconnect, but I was met with absolute silence.
Always find it awkward when you get groups that don't talk. Even after the boss and I thanked everyone and apologized again. Absolute. Silence. .___.
Got a comm though, so I guess one person appreciated me not completely bailing out.
Took a nap after that though because power didn't come back on until later anyways.

Dealt with a Red Mage earlier, and mind you this person only had Red Mage and Bard leveled, who told me that Red Mages are better at healing than healers because they can cast 2 healing spells at once and "healers can't do that".
Battle voice missed twice for our bard today on Susano EX until our RDM realized it was bc he was casting it when Susano was still facing the party. Can't cast it from the front apparently.
The other day I was running Shinryu and had a fellow whm was continually standing in the green knock back box taking a crap ton of damage. Called them out for it, and they're reply was they were using sure cast to keep them from being knocked back. I pointed out that I wasn't talking about the knock back but the damage they were taking and again they're response... Oh I use Tetra to cure myself of that... I literally face palmed due to the fact that, that is just wasting time and a cool down for tetra when it could be used for healing someone else...
Not to mention they died more than I did each time we tried to fight him.
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
It's actually because we have to wait for the critical hit rate buff when singing to apply to party members first before Battle Voice can affect them. Sometimes it takes 2-4 seconds before it shows up for party members. It also explains why Bards don't get the Battle Voice buff themselves, they currently don't get the crit boost while singing. (They also don't even get affected by their own Troubadour.)
I don't know why that's even a thing, considering that you're not supposed to be able to cast Battle Voice without singing in the first place.
Bard is... Mechanically buggy right now.

Battle Voice no longer affects mobs, just party members (so, for example, BV + Foe's is no longer a thing). So it will only affect party members under the influence of Mage's Ballad, Army's Paeon, or Wander's Minuet. They do have to be within range for it to take effect though, and as far as I'm aware, the BV buff itself is similar to the Refresh/Tactician, meaning that if they aren't near the BRD when it goes out, they don't get it (would need to definitely test this to be 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain they have to be near us to get the BV buff; same for the Troubadour buff). We can't even activate Battle Voice when Foe's is the only song we're singing, so I'm waiting for the day someone tells me to BV my Foe's and I literally can't.
(Btw, I really hate how Foe's duration is less than half of what it used to be...the MP drain on it is ridiculous... and now ASTs give me EVEN MORE EWERS AND NO BALANCES D: )
Anyways, running the level 70 dungeons to finally unlock Expert Roulette (and get some Verity). Last boss of Temple of the Fist, the tank pulled without the healer in the room, so they got locked out. Between well-timed Warden's Minne, Second Winds, and Clemencys, the PLD, SAM, and I managed to get the boss down to 5% before I finally died. The healer (still outside the arena) then decided to use his raise macro on me. And this is what it said.
The whited-out part was an emoji...male...body part...ahem.
Needless to say, I'm slightly disturbed and feeling a little bit violated right now.

Yeah, i shyt my pants when i saw our War tank lose well into 60% of his hp in 1 swing from the last boss in the 69 dungeon as a blm.I gotta say, I\\'m noticing something pretty ingenious with this.
When the developers revealed the fact that Direct Hit as a stat exists, the vast majority of players only thought about how it would affect their own personal damage. Few people, if any at all, took into consideration that it may come back to bite everyone in the ass because technically that should mean enemies can now direct hit against YOU. That\\'s likely precisely why tanks are dying so much faster, despite the healing potency increases and the Cleric Stance removal. Stance dancing has no place in the new environment.

;_;
Dem crit direct hit tank busters are going to be monstrous.
If you're going to afk in PvP, can you at least pretend like you're doing something? Just stand at your company's main control point or something. ffs, I'm so sick of people just finding some secluded corner of the map and running around in circles the whole time or stupid shit like that.
I know it doesn't matter if you win or lose, but it just seems disrespectful. Like you care so little that you're just going to have the other 71 people farm exp for you.
