I have an honest and serious question, coming from somebody who has never played a PLD.

Is Clemency really that bad compared to other similar abilities used by other jobs/roles? I can generally pop Second Wind and Bloodbath without virtually any dps loss.

Clemency can be used in dungeons to allow the healer to AOE. In some cases, it's honestly better that the healer focus on DPS rather then healing, and the PLD focus on healing themselves.

However, if you really need to use a bunch of GCD healing during a dungeon you might be doing it wrong.

I have to hard second this. I'm going to make a macro soon that basically says "if you waste GCD's on Clemency, I'll have to make up for your awful DPS by not healing you. Good luck." I outright refuse to heal a single time after I see a PLD cast Clemency. You're making things slower and being an obnoxiously bad player by using that if the healer is alive. I want no part in enabling that mindset.

Gotta tell you, that makes you a bad healer. If a PLD using a tool in their kit offends you to such a degree that you will cease doing your job immediately, you should stop queuing as that job.

I can't imagine it's even that big an impact on dungeon clear speed. Especially if we compare it to the impact a wipe would have for a PLD terrified of using Clemency at all because it might offend a healer's delicate sensibilities.

Some healers just take it as a personal insult on their skill if a paladin dares to cast a heal.

Just be glad they're aware they have a HP bar and are trying to leverage some of their utility. Just assure them you got them and they can focus on dps instead of getting nasty.

It's been a while since I posted in here (or done a levelling roulette) but I just got dumped into a levelling roulette with a BRD in full Lightning glamour in Gubai Library.

Thought it was an honest mistake until I saw the level 40 INT/STR/VIT hodgepodge right side. Then I noped the fuck out.

I see a lot of tanks in dungeons that don't use CDs but spam Clemency instead so I just stop healing them and just dps

And you should also know that blaming the healer when a tank ignores his defensive toolkit doesn’t exactly work, either.
