GASP......HOW DARE YOU XDThat's so cute. I love these stories and I wish I met more people like that. The social dimension of the game seems to disappear sometimes, and I like to be reminded that there are people behind thoses characters, making jokes, chatting a bit, talking about burning lalafells. I really enjoy these moments, and it's such a good compensation for the (very few) times I met agressive and evil people.
I thought we were all united together to exorcize the Elezen menace xD
That sounds fun! As much as I like quick dungeons, sometimes it's nice to have a group that's willing to take it slow and have fun with it, even though I have trouble keeping up with conversations due to having to shuffle between my controller and the keyboard. Some of the most memorable runs I've had were the ones with people actually talking to me and being friendly. Anyway, I'm glad you made some new friends!Friend requests make me incredibly nervous. Queued up as NIN for a quick and easy run in Halatali HM and met some really wonderful players. More often than not, I try to remain as friendly as possible, but I will also go out of my way to keep a completely low profile (other than Eureka because sometimes, you need to communicate). These folks...the DRK, the BRD, the SCH...
They just randomly struck up a conversation with me. In the 15 minutes we were there, we chatted about 4.5, to pizza, to even a brief role-play - something I'd never even gotten into. So to the three from Adamantoise that actually managed to get me out of my shell, thank you. It was a joy running with you guys and one of my most smoothest dungeon experiences ever.
...friend requests still make me very nervous though. I like the little bubble I built for myself, but I'll give it a shot.
The Lost City of Ampador (Hard). Leveling my Dark Knight, im in my artifact level 60 gear with some shire accessories. I am having a bit of trouble keeping emnity wit hthe red mage/samurai. I can hold it, but I have to keep to an emnity rotation most of the fights. I ask the Dps if they can use diversion. This starts a literal sh*t storm with the SAM. I get called sh*t, etc. (the usual).. So, I just let him have the aggro since he wants it so bad. At this point the SAM refuses to do anything, and just afks while talking poop he even starts getting aggressive with the healer, and the healer literally said and did nothing to them! Tells the rest of the party either kick him, or kick me. We get to the last boss, he gets teleported to the fight and suicides in aoe. We 3 manned it. The Red Mage still wasn't using diversion. I managed but it wasn't optimal.
I didn't know asking a dps to use diversion was such an issue!

As a bard, every time I see dps creep in on enmity and don't use diversion I think "If you aren't going to use it, can I have it?"
Refresh and tactician aren't always enough
Decided to finally do some level 70 content with white mage since I bought a new weapon. Results: level 70 roulette, disaster. Lighthouse, definite disaster. I'm learning though.
Fishsteaks were made

Don't worry, I'll head up that organisation.
Cut me a deal, and when they mature properly, and the harvest is ready, I will be sure to put some to the side for you
Very odd day for Duty Finder today. Decided to do the full list, except for MSQ of course. Beyond the usual shenanigans I ended up in Wanderer's Palace with a nice group whose PLD did not use shield lob AT ALL and flash... like once (for the entire dungeon). How did they pull? By running past the enemies first (literally just running through them and then starting a combo where ever they decided to stop). Normally, this would be a prime moment for some friendly advice but I noticed the BLM was... ice-mage-ing. With a Shire rod. (That hurts my Black Mage soul). In any case it was far too much advice for the easiest lvl 50 dungeon so I just healed through it and after explaining about the tonberry adds in the main boss battle, it ended smoothly. Go team.
For Expert, well... Other than having to dust off Fluid Aura to get stragglers off our DPS it was smooth-ish. But is it normal to pull a boss in Deliverance? And not like 'oh hey I forgot I had this on'. More like 'Hi my name is Tank and just let me change... ok. This is Deliverance--let's go kill us a boss.' I think the DPS pulled off him a couple times but we all adjusted and he strategically used tank LB when he saw the mudpie was about to explode (one of the aoes got placed on the same platform it was on and I didn't see it) and that helped me heal everyone up. I've just... never seen that one before. But still a win. \o/
And then there's Normal Alliance. This ended in a vote abandon. It was Alphascape 4 Normal (which it usually is for me). It was just... bad. Multiple wipes due to... not paying attention? Twice I was completely out of mana from raising (I always take RDM). The MT died to Omega F's tank buster (final phase) multiple times. On our last wipe, two of the DPS decided it was all the tank's fault for not surviving the tank busters and thus killing the raid. The vote abandon passed before I could point out that the healers were down CONSTANTLY (I know because I was constantly raising them). As were the two dps who decided to foist blame on the tank who probably had to waste his cooldowns staying alive because of said healers being on the floor. He left before the vote abandon went into effect. When I re-queued it was Exdeath Normal. It went like butter. I still wish I could have sent him a Tell or something. That had to be rough.
Bonus: Got Doma Castle for leveling (personal favorite) and Shinryu (also personal fave) for Trials.
Extra Bonus: The Ridorana run I was in was full of problems and near-wipes (and a couple of rage-quits). We eeked by on the skin of our teeth. As SMN I probably raised 20+ times (I wish that was an exaggeration) but the best part, the AMAZING part was that while we were waiting for a Healer to relog, someone started a vote abandon and the rest of us were like THIS AIN'T IT. I love that attitude. Best run ever.
Just another day in DF. @_@
