Does anyone actually use the "Looking for party" feature?

I noticed a while back that in the player search window there is an option to search for people who have "Looking for party" up, but each time I ever searched for those, literally nothing has ever shown.

I wonder if you turn on LFP does it actually put a flag by your name to?

I just think that's one feature that literally never gets used in this game, and I miss seeing all the people who had there LFP flags up back in ffxi, but sadly everything's automatic in ffxiv.

It does put a flag next to your name. It made more sense back in 1.0 when open world grinding on mobs was a common way to get xp. Nowadays folks either search for a party finder party, make one of their own, or just go with duty finder.

Oh yea, I do remember that feature from 1.0.

Other games have had it too. I suppose it's kind of been phased out but it didn't hurt for them to leave it in.

But the new party finder feature is used much more often.

You know... come to think of it, it might be nice if people who show up to a boss FATE or hunt asking for invite put their flag up so I could see who still needs one and who's been invited (the flag goes away when you enter a party)

Depends on the server, I've seen the PF on the larger servers like Balmung and usually I see a bunch of them up at any given moment. On my small server (Mateus) it's usually only 1-2 parties in there, more often though I see it empty.
