I haven't gotten all the way through the Black Mage questline, but from the beginning of it which I've seen, it seems to be lore appropriate to be a black mage, but not very lore appropriate to openly admit to being a black mage. So when in-character, black mages should probably still call themselves thaumaturges, to hide the fact that they're actually something more than that. It comes out sounding to others the same as if you were roleplaying as a THM, but isn't exactly the same thing.

1. What IN CHARACTER behaviors do people do that get under your skin? (it can be in character or out of character)

2. What IN CHARACTER behaviors are common in RP environments/situations?

1. It's hard to say since I identify with my characters so if my character is annoyed, I get annoyed too. There's a real misogynistic character in one of my groups that bugs me to no end and it's probably because as a character he blatantly ignores any subtle cues you give and actively antagonizes people. It can be really fun, but only if there's a chance to redeem the character.

2. I've personally encountered voidsent possessions a few times, and it's ridiculously common for people to create their own entire Lore for new tribes to explain non Lore related names (also being adopted, I used that for my main)

Overall there are so many different ways to RP and different allowances depending on your main group, some of which will be okay one place and not another.

There are female miqo'tes monks and hyur Dragoons. The secret arts of most jobs are being teached right now by several teachers... And Seekers of the Sun are bases on mating. That's how their society work. You don't like it ? Great, but that's the lore. Same thing for purring and kittens. That's the lore.

Looking down on people That "don't want to acquaintance the lore" and then spreading your... Incorrect view of the lore... Well that's sad. You seem to stick to a "classic" lore, but it seems to me that you don't try to understand what makes XIV's unique. I agree that angels, vampires and such are utter nonsense, but thinking that seekers of the suns' tribes are simply small funny-looking hyur villages and that there are only highlander monk is misinformation, and that may be worse, as it may seem the truth, and thus, spread misinformation.

Coming back to the origin of the thread : That's what gets under my skin. I don't care about ERP, as long as it's private, even exclusive ERP is no problem to me. I like people That search the lore and try to go beyond it (carefully...) but what I hate is people telling other how to RP while they don't even know their lore.
