Honestly, WAR is the most OP job in all of Frontlines. It's completely overpowered when they can kill 75% of my total health with one attack.

We managed to get around a 47% win rate for majority of our members this week (60+ games), awaiting chaos standings update. Not bad considering we mainly 72man matchs and 1 party in there20% win rate? I wish. It's difficult enough as it is to get the 3 wins a week for challenge log...
Your spells *can* crit for high dmg you quoted. However, for consistently getting crits in that range, you need setup. Also, to hope at getting those crits more often, you need party setup. Premades will obviously make a terrific difference, however, for all the GC/servers that do not have that privilege, you have to look at what you can do 1 on 1 (teams that don't attack, so you attack a node with 1 defender; it's 1 on 1. BLM seems to always lose unless I get the first cast without interrupt and got swiftcast up and opponent is from select classes I can solo).
While there is no doubt smn burst is silly dmg, its limiting factor of aetherflow stacks leaves it more vunerable/useless in prolonged fights. It can easily catch people out off guard

Take for instance this match, this was the first attack. All cd's were up for both sides, but my surprise attack caught both the healer and tank off guard.
Only smn can do these types of things but all it took was a single heal and this death would have been prevented, there is a lack of decent healers in frontlines which leaves smn free to rekt.
Smn's burst is predictable tho, a healer on their a game can spot a burst inc and negate, blm I feel sneaks under the radar. If you manage to have a firestarter proc ready for when you land a fire IV and you can drop someone in a second.
I have around 5 1 v 1 situations on blm atm, ninja x 2 smn drg and a war. The drg I found beat me hands down, the other 4 were pretty easy but there again these could of just been below par players or shear lack of cd's available.

Smn targets are easy to heal even if they bane ur whole party 1 healer lb and its gone. WAR is the only thing op good def good selfheals good dmg I mean wtf
This and whatever people say about the overall balance, how its "just" the burst etc may be true, but it doesnt help the poor dds that are basically getting one shot in big brawls out of nowhere (without the mentioned heals. Not like you always get a lot of pro healers on your back in soloqeues), lying on the floor. And while you say its only a minute base, so is purification. And theres more than just that one summoner unless you are the dude strayin off on your own. What makes smn seem op is simply how god damn cheap it is
And it doesnt mean other classes arent op. All i see is war and smns, few blm and drk. There are often adders stacked on brd, but thats the moment to be afraid of those 20 win ratios xD

1 thing summoners (and range dps in general) do good is "stealing" kills. In almost every match I'm in, on multiple occasions, the final blow on the target I'm on is some kind of flare. Not that I mind. I'm sure other melee dps have noticed.
No. We don't use the flare to get the killing blow. The target just did not have the hp at that juncture in time to survive the attack.
The intention does not matter lol, if that's what you are getting at. I guess the gist of what I'm saying is that <insert ranged burst-like attack here> usually is the final blow. If you have ever played as melee you know what I mean when fighting in skirmishes or chasing people.
I have to wonder why it's fair for tanks to have access to their 'DPS mode' when Cleric Stance was taken away from healers.
because tanks cant heal other people, cleric stance was overpowered in wolves den let alone FL, good riddance to it
You still do stupid amounts of damage with the field commander set anyway, you just have to give up crit/ss/det
