    Question to Legacy players

How transition to 2.0 worked story wise? When you've transferred your Legacy lv50 char to 2.0, where did you started? You have to re-do all new main scenario from lv.1 quests or starting at some other point (as I understand new story dungeons are 2.0 exclusive)? Anything you've skipped in 2.0 like job quests if they were done in 1.0?

You will have to redo the all new main scenario and you will also have to redo the job quests as they come.
Basically, you'll be OP for a lot of those things but take the time to relearn to play your brand new lvl50.

Personally, I just started a new character for ARR. I mainly wanted a fresh start. ^^
When I do play my Legacy character I slowly work my way through the main scenario and job quests.

we get a clean slate story, sidequest and jobquest wise but we did keep our level, items, gear and 1/10 of our gil, some dungeons are the same place but at the same time a new dungeon did not look like they do now
    hope that helps ^^

Also, the 2.0 story had slight changes in dialouge for legacy players. Basically, they aknowledged that you played through the 1.x story (like characters recognizing you, references to your former deeds, etc.) but since the 2.0 story is entirely different and takes place 5 years later, you still have to do everything from the start, just like everyone else
The only difference is that your level is (probably) already 50, so you just have to do the new jobquests (which are pretty much the same as before though) instead of leveling up again.

This actually isn't completely correct - not all 1.0/Legacy players got the special 'Legacy' story and opening, but only those who had completed the 1.0 storyline past the Lunar Transmitter boss fight, as stated by Camate here in this thread:

I apologize for the delay in answering the questions and concerns about this, but if this was holding you up from progressing, please know that it is safe to do so. We hope you enjoy the story!
If you satisfy this requirement in 1.0 and thus did not get the Legacy opening and resulting storyline in ARR (which is actually pretty much the same as the standard ARR storyline save for some slight alterations in dialogue referencing the player's accomplishments in 1.0), your character was treated as pretty much just another regular adventurer and has the same opening and story dialogue as a new player to the game, other than starting with all your levels from 1.0 and gear intact.

Lore wise, those that satisfied the 'Legacy' story requirement mentioned above started the game with a different opening where their character teleports into the Black Shroud at the Althyk deity stone in Snakemolt (as in the 'New Beginning' trailer), and then they just walk on foot to their starting city, instead of arriving as a 'new' adventurer on the chocobo carriage or ferry, thus they do not receive the low level starting ring, as they never meet the merchant who gives them it. Otherwise, a 1.0 player is treated like any other regular adventurer just starting out and whatever they did in 1.0 is handwaved away and ignored sadly, although as mentioned regardless of whether you start with the Legacy story or not you still have your 1.0 levels, gear and items on you, and thus can change class immediately upon starting to any class you have exp in from 1.0 (if you didn't level a class in 1.0 however you have to wait til you do the quests for whatever class you start ARR as to the level 10 quest and then unlock the Armoury System and join Guilds like a new player).

Not sure if it is a bug on my end but I recently checked my cutscenes in the Inn and my opening has changed to the Legacy opening, yet I have never seen nor cleared Castrum Novum in 1.0 (I am a Legacy player though). I do remember when I started playing 2.0 with Spykun, my opening was the new player one but somewhere along the line it changed. Whether this was unintentional or a ninja change, I don't know but I'm not complaining.

Even the 3.0 story had some characters have a change of dialogue recognizing our 1.0 feats. It's nice that hey didn't abandon the past game entirely.

Where can you view the opening?! I thought it wasn't watchable in the inn!

    Also, thanks for clarifying, Enkidoh^^

It's listed as a sidequest from your starting city, since it's before you are introduced to main scenario quests.
