Retainer QoL Change Request

Retainers are basically the banks of the game, but they could use some improvements.

1. Allow us to discard items directly from the retainers inventory.
2. Allow us to back up to the retainer select menu without having to reselect the bell.
3. Allow us to post items from the retainers inventory directly to the market.

None of these would be too difficult to implement, I honestly dont know why it wasnt already implemented, but this would make dealing with retainers much much easier.
I kind of dread opening my retainers currently.

As for #3.

Good News! That's an option you have right now. The menu item is right below "sell things from my inventory."

Yush. The ability to make MB postings straight from themselves has been an option as long as I have been playing.

As mentioned, #3 is already available, but I agree with the OP that #1 and #2 would really help.

I'd also like to see the retainer's greeting and farewell messages moved from the NPC dialog window, where we have to acknowledge them each time, to an overhead chat bubble that's echoed in the chat box (like FATE and duty NPCs sometimes have).

God, yes please.

Something else I've found annoying me lately. I have 2 retainers of my 4 dedicated to holding crafting supplies (and 2 is not enough by far) and I'm finding as I search for materials that I have a lot of overlap between them. So I'm wasting space by having say 35 rainbow cotton bolls on one retainer and 15 on the other. I try to keep these things under control, but the micromanagement of individual items going to the right retainers EVERY TIME is just a little much. It'd be great if there were a way to either easily see which retainers are holding what, say in the item tooltip, or easily consolidate partial stacks of things across retainers. I'd take either of those.
