Ul'dah, Hall of Flames -- Text -- Lannis's Incorrect Comma and Capitalization

When the player is in the Hall of Flames in Ul'dah and speaks to Lannis before joining a Grand Company, the following text appears:

    "
Lannis: I know you... Yes, you are
    the recruit, Mermentia. Continue
to serve well. In time you will
join our ranks as a true Flame,
and then your name too will be
    Immortal.
    "

This is incorrect for possibly two reasons:
    1. The comma that follows "recruit" on the second is incorrect, as it implies that the player (Mermentia) is the only recruit.
    2. The capitalization of "Flame" may be inconsistent with how this term is capitalized in other areas of the game.

Please fix these issues by removing the comma and, if "Flame" isn't capitalized correctly based on the rest of the text, by replacing "Flame" with "flame".

The corrected text would read as follows:

    "
Lannis: I know you... Yes, you are
    the recruit Mermentia. Continue
to serve well. In time you will
join our ranks as a true flame,
and then your name too will be
    Immortal.
    "

To be honest, I really just don't know about the capitalization of "storm," "serpent," and "flame" when in these kinds of contexts. Like, "Storm Recruit Mermentia" should probably be capitalized in that manner. But what if it's "the storm recruit," or "the flame lieutenant"?

Could this be clarified for me? Thanks, guys.

This is one of those situations where the person speaking organizes their clauses in such a way that, if I tried it, there be enough commas to choke a chocobo. I'd have said, like, "I know you... Yes, you are [playername], the recruit. Continue to serve well and, in time, you will join our ranks as a true flame. Then, your name, too, will be Immortal."

I'd sure hate to have to read Lannis's paperwork submissions. Poor Aubrey.

The beauty of this particular comma is that it's actually a grammar rule. It's not just "opinion" or "editorial choice," as so many are wont to be. I don't have the specific rules in front of me at the moment, but the comma is only placed there if the information is not strictly necessary. That is, if "Mermentia" is indeed the Immortal Flames' only recruit, then you place a comma there. However, since Mermentia is only one of many, then the comma should not be there -- it's necessary info.

I understand what you're saying, though. There probably isn't an issue I struggle more with than the comma. I know what *I* want to see, but that isn't necessarily always the way I see things. For example, I adore the serial comma and can't stand when it isn't there. I was pleased as punch when I learned that the serial comma is something this game's style uses.

When used in the context of the Grand Companies or their members, Flame, Serpent, and Storm are being capped. Unless the usage is in a metaphor, and maybe not even always then, we'll be going with the uppercase. I'm actually going to uncap Immortal in the above line–that's just weird.
