    Tuna Miq'abob description issue

Okay, so I know this is minor, but typos and misinformation bug me sometimes

In the description for Tuna Miq'abob, it states the following -
"A traditional Seeker of the Sun dish consisting of light, flaky tuna and ripe peppers on a stick, roasted to perfection."

Where did the peppers come from? Because my character sure didn't put them in there. The recipe calls for the following - ash tuna, finger shrimp, midland basil, olive oil, sun lemon and table salt...

Can we get a correction or something? I know it's a minor thing, but come on XD

I would assume its a garnish. Garnishes for the most part aren't called out in a recipe.

No, but pepper isn't a garnish, it's a seasoning. Pepper of any kind, ground or just sliced changes the taste of the dish completely.

Anything can be a garnish. Peppers are absolutely used as garnish IRL. A quick google search will show hundreds of different applications.

    Garnish - to decorate.
Peppers, unless you sit em on the side of the plate, well away from the meal itself, is going to alter the taste. This is a kabob recipe, which means everything is on a single stick, pressed together and cooked. That is adding to the flavor, not just making it look pretty.

When it says ripe peppers its talking about either the vegetable or in fact chili type peppers, which yes when ground is a seasoning but it doesn't say ground pepper.

While peppers themselves may not be a garnish. Typical shish kebob is a heck of alot better looking and more appealing (garnished) when peppers are added.

I didn't specifically say ground. I said ground OR sliced. Even a sliced pepper, when put on the stick with the rest of the ingredients(again, this is a kabob recipe) will mix flavoring. That's not garnishing. If you're going to garnish something, you're typically adding it after it's on the plate, like parsley flakes or a drizzle of a very mild sauce around the food, but never touching it just to show less white on the plate itself. Garnish is not part of the recipe, however using a ripe pepper on nothing more than a stick, is part of the recipe itself.

Garnish is ALWAYS for the visual appeal of a dish. If you're altering the flavor, you're talking about seasoning and spicing it.

Typically, but not always. Anything can be considered "garnish", could just be for looks or taste, or both. If you simply just had meat on a stick it looks rather rudimentary, add some flare (garnish) to it like grilled peppers and onions it suddenly becomes more embellished and looks great, not to add tastier also. As I'm sure you know, with food looks are a huge part of the meal. It just looks better with the peppers on it, so it can be considered a garnish to the meat.

Again, if you're altering the taste, you're not garnishing it, you're seasoning it. The moment you use something to change taste(and pepper, when cooked on a stick with meat will ALWAYS change taste) it is no longer a garnish, it's a seasoning agent.

I agree, garnishing a dish makes the visual appeal wonderful. They say you need to be able to eat a dish with your eyes, as well as your mouth, to fully enjoy it. But when you're changing the taste, that's not garnish and should be added into the ingredient list, or ex'ed out of something that has to be cooked together, as again, a kabob is cooked together, and it's on a stick, nothing more.
