Mining botters... (the situation is bleak)

The bot mining on my server is getting ridiculous as of late. I've already submitted 2 reports this morning after only 30 minutes of mining. One of the botters actually noticed I was there after 5 minutes and teleported away.

How to notice an obvious botter:
1.They run in straight lines
2.They don't stop unless to change direction or if stuck
3.When stuck they stop moving for a few seconds and eventually jump then keep moving
4.Move in patterns.

They are so stupidly easy to spot yet nothing can really be done about it except report them. By the time a report is dealt with the marketboard more than likely has already been hit by them and prices plumit. Yay for some people I guess but bad for those of us who leveled these skills for the purpose of money making.

I'm not going to spend my time sitting at the computer headdesking through 3 hours of mining when other people are doing it while they sleep,eat,work or whatever. I don't know what the fix is, I don't care how it gets fixed. I will say that if "nothing" is done then you guys just encourage everyone who isn't doing it to do it and BELIEVE me, I have been considering it. Especially when you find out after a few days or weeks they are still logging in.

Why can't SE just pick some dedicated members of the community from servers to do something about it. Even if its the ability to forcelog out a botter and report their actions directly to a GM or something. Like I said, I don't claim to know the solution. Mine isn't the best, their may not be a best solution but reporting is "not" working.

Threads like these are created every other day. It's annoying but SE are aware of the problem. There's nothing else you can do except report them. Maybe SE could do more but making this thread won't make them any more aware of the issues unfortunately.

I understand though, don't get me wrong. I used to see them at The Burning Wall spamming Golden Fleeces and the same ones would be there every day.

If only they fixed the Support Desk at least, because reporting all the bots and spammers and everything - it's almost like I spend more time suffering with that than actually enjoying the game itself........... but this too has been an issue for so godsdamned long. And still the Support Desk is as clunky and cumbersome as something like that can probably ever be.

When there was a temporary lapse in complaints about the DRK aura, Yoshida pretty much figured the problem must have solved itself. If people stop complaining about bots, who is to say SE won't consider that problem solved too?

But there's not a lapse in reports? That's what I'm saying. I'm not arguing against the OP, all I'm saying is there's plenty of threads about bots already and the Devs can see them. They're aware of the issue.

Edit: and I agree there's a problem and SE can do more about the way we report and banning them. I'm literally just saying the forums are always filled with bot posts and there's a huge thread about the RMT.

Reports aren't available to the public eye for everyone to view. The forums are.

And I know. You stated such in one of your previous posts. We all hate bots, I'm sure. But a cease in complaints cannot lead to anything good, and the ongoing complaints really aren't doing anything bad. If anything, complaints about it encourages SE to do more.

It's not about making SE "aware". It's about letting them know the community's frustration with it, reminding them of the intensity of it, and putting the information that there are bots in the game, and lots of them, into the public eye. Because if that was not happening, there would be much less pressure for SE to do their best to control the problem.

its rediculous to see douzens of 99 stacks darksteel nuggets at the marketboard from the same person...lol

Sadly all you can do is report. I reported one for weeks who only botted during the day (and played at night). Almost a month later he was finally gone, now if he was banned or just moved servers I am not sure.

Well I hope SE sort it then because these threads are getting slightly tedious. And as a Dev said themselves, it's just pushing other threads down every time a new one is made. At the same time, I hope SE sort the issue more productively, although it's not as easy as people make it out to be.
