I myself heal and DPS. I think it's fun. But when I'm not healing and our healer isn't DPSing, I'm not complaining if things are dying. And if they're not? I'm going to look at the DPS first, because that's their -only- job.
So one could infer, from your reasoning, that it is perfectly fine for dps to stand in avoidable aoes in order to slightly increase dps. I mean, it's the healers' job to heal right?

Actually I do sometimes this thing (as brd) at a4s 1-st leg, when it's time to refresh my dots, but I got a red circle under me just when I started casting IJ. It will hit me for 50% of my hp, and I will be recovered by fairy, so why not?
