Please devs, give us real Anti Aliasing. FXAA doesn't cut it for this game.

This game is in dire need of it. The art direction of the game and what this graphics engine is able to put on your screen is incredible but the overall image quality is held back by having no real anti aliasing options. The sheer amount of noise and flickering the foilage and some of the buildings produce is insane. So my question is, can we expect real Anti Aliasing options in the near future?

I mean, even the 10 year old World of Warcraft recently received a whole plethora of Anti Aliasing options, even some that only people with the highest end machines can run. Options are a great thing.

Different game but the exact thing XIV is suffering from for anyone wondering.

Since the game already uses Nvidia Gameworks maybe a TXAA implementation would be a great start.

Can't you force it in the Nvidia equivalent of the CCC?

Sadly, no. The game uses a deferred rendering technique which doesn't allow for anti aliasing without devs making the necessary changes. Now that they moved to DirectX11 it is possible for them to implement real anti aliasing though (see World of Warcraft which uses DirectX11 since Cataclysm Addon some years back) . Under directx9 with a deferred renderer it wasn't possible as far as i understand.

WoW did not have that at WoD launch, they came in later patch. Probably 6.1, as it was around the time I quit.

WoW also uses deferred rendering. I believe it only uses DirectX 10 as well. I'd have to actually boot up and see though... Haven't in forever...

Plus it took them how many years? You *do* have postprocessing options they just don't look great.
