I'm using a Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 Version 1.

The Minus key which is default to open the menu is right below the Calculator key to open a calculator on the desktop.

So if I try to open the menu while looking at the screen instead of my keyboard and aim just a little high

Keyboard doesn't come with drives or settings and it's not the keyboard that's broken.
The Open Calculator button works just fine.

What you are suggesting, I presume, is that I scrap the functionality of my keyboard in order to run FFXIV.

No, Sorry if that came accross rude, id not long got back from the Pub.

I had just thought most keyboards with featured keys had software these days to allow you to reassign them like my old MS keyboard had and my G9x mouse does for Different Programs.

Might be worth looking for 3rd party software that can do that, Give your annoying key a use in game given its placement.

You will have to play windowed, or use a windower (which would be hard to find at this point since SE killed ffevo) which in SE eyes is a no no because alt tabbing kills immersion to them. Since pressing calc is essentially alt tab they probably won't fix it. It was the same with XI. Its hilarious in a game where you do have to look stuff in a wiki, and you might want to play full screen, you can't do it with the tools SE gives you due to this alt tab/any button really issue. My keyboard has a volume key, and the same calc key you talk about, constant dcs I would have, but I started playing my game in max resolution I could while still in windowed. There are better fps in fullscreen though.

You can reset the buttons.. Same software I had.. never version..
