Cool story, bro.Met a new player today, who had just finished their Leves and didn't know what else to do content wise. I explained a few things about his options but then just decided "oh well I'll just PL him a little and explain stuff" so 10 levels later after a run through Shposhae, he was more knowledgeable about the game, made a new friend, and actually felt more inclined to play. I learned right after he had just planned to log when he had run out of leves.
No really, I'm serious. ^_^
I'm all for you and others helping others out. That's awesome.Met a new player today, who had just finished their Leves and didn't know what else to do content wise. {Nice to meet you!} Lanoire Lannister
It would've been the same result if PLing wasn't in the picture, and instead you cured him while he solo'd random mobs. PLing wasn't the crux that led him to stay. Your kindness was.

40-50 Unknown....
Conjurer plvl is the way to go atleast for low levels. The above times for 1-22 are fairly accurate and can be accomplished in just 2 locations. We were able to obtain chain 9 on most groups which netted us 3.5-4.5 exp. We noticed that the most exp is acquired when the player is 5 levels below the enemy level but can also gain good xp 10-15 lvls below the enemy. We plan on doing 22-30 tonight with a location in mind. Btw i see no one else abusing the spots im talking about so there is no competition on my server.
One huge downside to plvl is that most of the time i will have 8+ mobs on me constantly hitting me, this completely wrecks my gear, every so often a piece of armor gets dmg'd. So there is a penalty to plvl besides the fact that my friend will skip the story line as he lvls, but nothing is stopping him from completing it once he hits 50. Once i am able to confirm AoE plvl times throughout the areas i have in mind i will most likely release a small and efficient guide to plvl.... Although i need to hit 50 myself >.<
As for my opinion on the whole plvl issue is this,
FFXIV is a dying game and yoshi-p was assigned the task to revive it, so what does he do? "Fun, Live, Reboot,Rebuild,
Now im not 100% sure what this is about but it seems to me that these 4 words are very important to the future of FFXIV. Live seems to be associated with quests and the impending doom storyline, so what are the other 3? Lets look at reboot and rebuild. As of 1.19 yoshi-p effectively rebooted gear and down the road they will reboot the world map. So where does rebuild come into play. This could very well mean rebuilding eorzea itself after a certain disaster or rebuilding the player population or both. How do you go by rebuilding a dieing population, in a mmo? Offer a quick and easy way to level and enjoy content with the people already in game. Its a genious and brilliant move by yoshi-p.
Think about it your avg player doesnt want to wait 2+ months just to get started on the real portion of the game. Leveling is fun and i actually enjoy grinding so i have no problem spending my time and damaging my gear to help a friend out. End game is the hardcore aspect of ffxiv not leveling. Leveling is not a hardcore or meaningfull journy its just time consuming. And even with plvl it is still time consuming as i could be doing other tasks and improving my own character instead my friends
I thought this was the Powerleveling was the greatest thing ever thread not the whine about power leveling thread all you haters leave
Power leveling is great. I have no problem with it, it's nice to level up subjobs to get abilities to make my main class better in a quick manner. Grinding it out isn't hardcore, this forum has already established that time=/=hard so we should accept and move on. I got THM from 34-50 in about 12 days before 1.19 and I felt like that was a miracle but I felt so burnt out after. Now my CNJ is 33 and I have a feeling it will still take me about the same time. PLing is great but the new EXP system (chain/links) is fantastic too. I've seen lots of party shouts in town but haven't participated. I personally believe the best EXP camps are yet to be discovered.. except 40-50 which is without-a-doubt the beastmen strongholds.

Powerleveling is a horrible thing. Whats the point of mid-game content if everyone blows past it in hours and has to do it at cap. So much for anyone actually doing the Shposhae dungeon...
There needs to be somewhat of a leveling curve so players can actually enjoy the content at the level they are intended to do it. Or else why even have levels to begin with? Hell, why not just make it not an RPG is people don't like leveling. No one complains when you have to play an offline FF game for 60 hours just to get to endgame, and then double that to get level cap, and likely that same amount to get the best weapons. Yet for whatever reason, when it comes to an MMO FF game, all of that is thrown out the window? NO! That shouldn't happen

The difference is that level grinding is not considered content in an offline game.

PL whatever, I'm neutral...
If people want to just stand around while their character ranks up and someone else does all the work, and they find that fun, more power to them. If they don't want any challenge or wanna work for something so they can be proud of what they achieved then kudos to them.
I just want them to fix the stupid.. "Hey you need fleece/leather/etc well here is ONE pop point, have fun fighting over it with the rest of the server who need's it. Bai!"
That annoys me more tbh.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
Hmm... Well, I like the sound of it.. Anybody on Mysidia wanna meet me in Ul'Dah tonight and PL me a tad??? Say around 7pm Mountain Standard Time![]()
I approve. People that agree lets keep this thread above the people who can't adapt.
