ACN, MRD, LNC, PUG, ROG, GLD Why so serious(ly useless 30+)

So these classes are start classes and advanced classes are specialized..
I get it but that's 6 jobs that are complete 1.0 fillers.

What can we really do about this? I mean there are no real reasons why these jobs should be perma suck.
In FFXI SE allowed those starting jobs to shine just as well as the specialized jobs.

This is what I propose as a starting idea:
Marauder should be able to use all weapons, this makes it a weapon specialist. Yes its not the best but add things like slashing resistance/blunt resistance/piercing resistance and the marauder having the ability to rotate. This was planned for Warrior in FFXI and was never implmented. Do it here!

You've made the mistake though of falling into the trap of just expecting FFXIV to be FFXI-2. It is not, nor will it ever be. FFXIV uses a totally different ability and battle system to FFXI so forget everything you knew about Jobs, weapons etc in FFXI. FFXIV uses what is called the Armoury System, where the class/Job is the weapon or tool - crafting and gathering classes are actually grouped with melee and mage classes all under the one blanket term of 'disciplines'. Equip a sword, and bang, you're a GLA. Change that to a great axe, and now you're a MRD. Put on a wooden wand and now you're a CNJ. Replace that for pickaxe and now you're a MNR. Put on a fishing rod and now you're a FSH, etc etc.

This means you cannot use multiple weapon types on the one weapon class but I actually prefer it like this, as FFXI's system was just unnecessarily complex which fostered favouritism anyway (sure WAR in FFXI could use pretty much any weapon type in the game, but if you used anything other than great axe or single handed axe you were laughed out of Dodge pretty quickly for being 'gimp').

Likewise the 'starting' classes are actually not 'ignored' when you equip a Job, that Job is just the base class still with a fancy crystal attached which is the real power behind the throne, that boosts stats and allows you to use a few more specialized abilities at the expense of not being able to pull as many cross class abilities. For instance, a WAR is still a MRD with a WAR crystal. The only 'true' Jobs in the game are the three 'extra Jobs' added with Heavensward which are an experiment in trying to move away from 1.0's legacy, but the jury is still out on how well that went.

This isn't the FFXI system of Job and Sub Job, your weapon determines your class, you can swap in extra abilities from other classes (to a degree) and your Job specializes that class's role in the party by boosting it's stats and adding extra special abilities based on party effectiveness at the expense of cross class abilities. That's summing up the FFXIV system. Sure it can be improved or tweaked, but it will never be changed or replaced with a system like FFXI, as there is no reason to do so.

Twas just an idea, don't misunderstand that this was a request but an idea. Not saying it was ffxi, just suggesting that the content not be such a filler.
Your troll panties got twisted btw. Relax, negative arguments are great on why I quit this game threads, you are needed there. Go.
