Hey everyone. We are Durti Monkeytoe [i190 Monk] and Loen Star [i190 White Mage]. We are a married gaming duo. Originally we picked FFXIV up early in 1.0 and played for a year before giving up on the lack of content. We came back for 2.0 and we were serious gamers up to T9 when we took a much needed break from the game. After several months we came back and have gotten caught up on Heavensward and now we are ready to get back into Endgame, and that means Alexander: Savage.
We are open to joining a pre-existing static or recruiting and running our own static. We are available Monday - Friday 7:30 CST to 12:00 CST. Our schedules are pretty locked in and we shouldn’t have much variation short of occasional emergencies that may require us to work late. We are open to installing and using any of the popular voice programs for raid and socializing. We were experienced raiders with wins through T8 in coil. We ended up taking our break before being able to progress to far into T9. We want to join a team that is dedicated and routine, with planned raid times and the plan to be use up all of the designated raid time in order to forward practice/progression on the current phase, now and in the future.
If we do end up running our own static, here are the rules and guidelines we plan on adhering to.
- Raid Days and Times will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 CST to 12:00 CST. Additional days and times will be added only if the entire static agrees.
- Raid members should expect to spend all the scheduled raid time to clearing/progressing. We will not stand for clearing a turn and then everyone signing off immediately after. If A1S is cleared in 15 minutes, we will spend the remaining time progressing on A2S. If it takes 2 hours, we will spend 1 hour in A2S. Dedication is important.
- Absences and Tardies will be excused only if they are communicated to the static ahead of time. No one wants to sit around and wait for an hour not knowing if the static is going or not going.
- Raid members need to be able to communicate outside of the game if they have unexpected circumstance that will prevent them from raiding. This could be e-mail/facebook/skype/groupme/text/ect so long as they can let the raid team know.
- Raid members will need to have working microphones and be available for any voice server available to the static to use. (Durti and Loen do not currently have a server. We currently use Skype but are willing to use a server that any member may have available.)
- Members who miss raid day, excused or unexcused, may be replaced with PUGs.
- Unexcused absences and tardies will be regulated on a 3 strike basis. Miss raid day 3 times with no warning and you will be kicked and replaced. Be over 30 minutes late more than 3 times without warning and you will be kicked and replaced.
- Decisions that affect the entire static will be voted on, with the majority ruling taking precedence. This applies to replacing members of the static, adjusting raid times for a given week, or requesting that players gear alternate classes for the benefit of the static.
I know this is a very formal list of rules. In our experience it is better to have a static with firm rules like this. The static team should be an entity independent of social relationships and should be aimed at making progress, not just forming friendships.
The composition of the static will roughly be:
- Tank
- Tank
- Melee: (Durti Monkeytoe - 190 MNK)
- Melee: DRG/NIN
- Range: MCH/BRD
- Range: SMN/BLM
- Healer: (Loen Star - 190 WHM)
- Healer: SCH/AST
Static members should also take into account that they may be required to level/gear an alternate class to benefit the static team. I (Durti) will be focusing on MCH > DRG > BLM in that order for fights that may require me to be flexible. This will take time. I make this not because I know that currently PLD are considered to not be great in A3S and A4S. Now if the PLD can handle it and is not causing wipes in the static, we are good. If not, the entire static can’t suffer due to poor class balancing.
To apply to the static, feel free to contact me here, send me a tell in game, pm me on skype at DurtiMonkeytoe, or e-mail me at durtimonkeytoe@gmail.com. I will check all of these regularly. Loen and I reserve the right to interview possible players on Skype before recruiting. We don’t currently have a voice server but we can join yours for the interview to see if everyone’s expectations align. Once the first member is recruited, we will allow accepted members to sit in on interviews as well.
Once we have a full static we will vote on a name and establish a linkshell in game to keep in contact and also to invite any PUGs that perform well in case we should ever need them again.
