This I don't understand, what the heck does it even mean? its not like you don't have any privacy, you're playing from behind your monitor...and its not like if you were online but in your mog house your friends wouldn't know you were online because all they'd have to do is look up your name or see if you're on the LS list. So what is this privacy you speak of?

lol, wow well I guess I have to spell it out for some people, everyone else got it... Privacy meaning "in game privacy", not a bunch of nutcases running around you while synthing, stuff like that and I do believe I specified by mentioning "peace and quiet". Anything else?

I just meant that there are better ways to implement player housing without just making them a closed-in instance without windows (i.e., the mog houses in FFXI).

I would like a house, and a pet moogle, but the mog houses in FFXI were crap.

You make a very valid point, It was a bit dreary and lonely but still, I miss the privacy and a place to call home. It would be cool if you could not only invite your friends/party inside but host events or play games, poker, battle ship anyone? or even better, triple triad maybe? (even though I never played triple triad, just a suggestion). There are so many cool directions they can go with this. How about picking or earning cool housing locations? Having tool benches for alchemy, blacksmithing ect, to hold you supplies or refrigerators to keep all you cooking ingredients in. I miss growing plants in flower pots, I was a big time gardener in XI. This is the next gen FF, they should have all the bells and whistle's, once they work out the kinks of the last dev teams miserable failure of a game of course.

The main reason it was lonely was because it was totally instanced. You didn't have neighbours, a view, etc.

Other games allow you to physically build your house anywhere you want in the game world, providing its flat land. FFXI didn't even let you choose the shape of your mog house or the colour of your walls etc.

I understand this is SE and they hate freedom so we'll never see something so interesting in FFXIV, but some kind of happy compromise such as an instanced zone with tree-lined streets and neighbours or something would be ok.
