    Retiring Chocobos Warning

So the game extensively says in order to breed a race chocobo you must retire it. I go to retire it and it looks all disapointed. I go to try to figure out how to use a covering I purchased and it turns out I basically deleted this chocobo and have to start from scratch with a fledgling Chocobo registration all because I didn't do a quest to retire the chocobo.

You didnt get the certificate for breeding because you only get it when retireing if your chocobo is rank 40 or higher, not rating 40, and you can only use 1 purcased breeding plate at a time. IE one of your's and one from the saucer for the first one.

This has been causing mistakes ever since the gold saucer released. I think it was kind of poor design to give the race chocobos two parallel leveling systems. (And given that they have two often confused leveling systems, the message about breeding when you go to retire one shouldn't be a generic "requirement is rank 40" message, but a "your chocobo meets the requirement" or "your chocobo doesn't meet the requirement" message.)

It is a shame that there isn't a clear difference of rank to rating....unless you did level your chocobo through the races to rank 40 where the quest does open up to introduce to you the process of retiring.

Guess they wanted people to race their chocobos properly before starting into the breeding mechanics?
