Hello everyone, I havent been playing my SCH for a while and today while doing a Trial roulette, I saw something very weird. I dont know if this was a bug on my end or I have missed a patch (like when they added Stoneskin II), but for some reason my group all had the Eye for Eye barrier effect.

Is the tome farming driving me mad or have I missed something?

PS: I did not make a screenshot of the event. Now looking back at it, I wish I did.

Scholar has a level 56 ability called "deployment tactics" that allows it to spread Eye for eye form one person to all persons. Also works on their Shield, so its popular to pop a big shield and then spread it around to absorb a huge hit (as opposed to relying on regular succor like the old days)

It was most likely spread by deployment tactics. Deployment tactics spreads eye for an eye and galvanize to all party members within a certain range. I believe it is 15 yams, but I am not entirely sure. This also means you can crit Adloquiom (sp?) on the tank and use deployment tactics to spread the super shield to the party.

This post saddens me, as it makes me realize how many scholars don't use their abilities properly lol.

Just to clarify something about Eye for an Eye, that is not made completely clear.

Eye for an Eye is, as its name describes, a punishment ability. Mobs that attack that target with physical skills, have a 10% chance to be inflicted with a debuff that reduces their damage dealt by 10%. In many cases, Eye for an Eye might not proc on a single target boss. The skill works best with an AoE pull. Unless the mob gets the debuff, the skill adds absolutely zero survivability.

Deployment Tactics is great for when your OT and MT have to tank at the same time, such as the split hands phase in a3 or during the multiple add phases of a5.

In roulette content, it's sometimes handy if your tank has lost a few mobs in a pull. Adlo+E4E+Deployment.
Your fairy can also be used to spread the skill in solo content, or when people aren't optimally aligned for the spread.

This is a very important thing to note. It can be a real tactical advantage to position (or reposition) your fairy to spread deployment to hit both tanks that both are MT role or to hit as many players as possible. It' a common practice for very skilled scholars

I'm pretty sure it's a 20% chance the debuff will be inflicted.

I know you're not saying to not use it on a single target boss, but the lesser effect due to only one mob being present should not deter the SCH from casting it. Especially against a boss. I find that there are few reasons why this ability should not be on CD while engaged with the enemy.
