    This game is beautiful.......

i have like a mid range rig and can run at max settings with decent fps... i can only imagine what the really expensive gaming pcs can bust out or overclocking (whatever that means) going from a S*** experience to this, i get lost leveling in areas seeing towns in the distance, brick details on the walls, the fluid motion of ffxiv life....

Now i got to manage all these dang SS i have been taking

If you don't use it already, you should check out SweetFX! Or Reshade. I use SweetFX, but a lot of people prefer Reshade. I believe Reshade is more customizable and has more options for graphical enhancements, but I'm sure someone else could explain it better than I can being that I don't use Reshade. SweetFX does the job for me. There are threads with pics of the graphical differences when using SweetFX, or Reshade, compared to the normal in game graphics. You might check them out, if you're interested in making your game even more beautiful. ( ~.ø)b

I see you got your new computer built and are enjoying it.
Huge difference, isn't it and totally worth the money if you are a PC gamer.

If you haven't already make sure to tweak your monitor/TV settings to your liking as well as tinkering with the output settings in the Nvidia settings.
    Things I would suggest doing.
    - Up the bit color depth if you can to at least 10 (the default is 8 iirc). This will give you deeper and richer colors. You should find this on the same page as the resolution settings in the geforce control panels.
    - tweak the settings under "adjust desktop color settings". I personally like to increase the gamma a bit while dropping the brightness (I find this gives deeper blacks while still maintaining decent visibility in dark scenes) and up the contrast a bit.
    - if you are using DSR (setting a higher resolution for a game that then gets downsampled/displayed at a lower resolution) make sure to go into the DSR settings (don't remember where they are of the top of my head) and decrease the smoothing/blur that is applied with the DSR, as the default is too high imo and causes the UI to be blurry.

P.S. Overclocking means you are forcing your components such as CPU, GPU, RAM to work faster than its default speed by essentially pumping more power (voltage) into it. The term overclock comes from the fact that you are forcing the speed, known as clockspeed, to go over what it normally is. This is not something that I would recommend unless you really know what you are doing as you could easily overheat and fry your components.

My computer's getting on in years. I run DX9 with all the settings cranked to max, and though my framerate is kinda crappy, I figure it's a small price to pay for getting the most of these visuals.

I just wish my game wouldn't crash in dx11.

Sometimes I like to roam around just seeing the sights and listening to the music. And while Heavensward is new, the old areas shouldn't be forgotten. Sometimes dungeons, like Pharos Sirius, have some nice visuals too.

But... your card isn't pushing a steady 60 @1080p? Maybe I overestimated its strength...

Anyways, I'm going to voice a contrary opinion and not recommend SweetFX. But try it I suppose and decide for yourself.

edit: By the way, as an optimization in your graphics settings: Try turning on "occlusion". It doesn't reduce quality, it basically just tells the graphics engine "If the eye can't see it, don't draw it". Can save quite of a bit of GPU in large heavensward areas without making things any less glorious.
