I don't know about a viewer but I think if player's want to view the event scenes for a battle, that the battle does not begin or continue until everyone has either viewed it or skipped it. Doing the level 25 ifrit quest, I was viewing the cutscenes, when I started hearing battle sounds that had nothing to do with the cutscene. When it finished, ifrit was already almost dead before I could do anything. Turns out some of the party members skipped the cutscene. They even had the audacity to be annoyed with me for viewing it.
