Right, because no one power leveled in XI...

I seem to remember many parties even into the 60s where I got yelled at for "taking hate off the PL." There was no more need to "actually party" in XI power leveling than there is in XIV.

Everyone who is so against PLing should suggest a system that is PL free. And I already know they can't, because it doesn't exist. Every MMO has power leveling. Accept for XIV pre-1.19, of course. We could always go back to that system. You know, the one that put this game on its deathbed?

People need to stop being so darn dramatic. Since release I've yet to see a power leveling party. I've been in a few pick up parties and the exp was great, I actually had fun during an exp party. There's nothing stopping anyone from choosing to play in a traditional route. And "everyone else will power level" isn't a reason why it should be changed. Everyone is free to play their own way and if traditional isn't it, then they shouldn't be forced to.

Explain to me how to effectively powerlevel in WoW (post-vanilla). Because the most efficient strategy I've managed come up with for it is to grind out the quests. Having a friend run Scarlet Monastery for me over and over doesn't produce better results, especially since it's limited to five times per hour.

I'm just saying, my observation has been that a system where "Higher level player killing your mob = lower exp for you" does kind of impact the ability to effectively PL.

Even in those systems (which FFXI had for most of its existence and still *technically* has) powerleveling is usually possible by some means, such as having an outside healer, or taking advantage of other mechanics.

No one currently against the powerleveling in XIV is against powerleveling completely. It's just lucrative to such an absurd extent in XIV that something needs to be done about it.

"Usually possible by some means" isn't the same as explaining it to me.

Having an outside healer in WoW isn't going to help you significantly, as recovering after battle isn't exactly a time-consuming experience.

Isn't WoW the go-to example of why XIV shouldn't be solo-friendly? Because one can solo to cap in an absurdly short amount of time?

If people want to be PLd, they'll get PLd. This current system just evens the field.

you make no sense. You are against solo lvling because it "takes little time" (Which wasn't and now definitely not the case)? But you're okay with pl which takes WAY WAY shorter time? stop taking drug
