    Final Fantasy XIV Config

POST patch this program has disappeared from my PC. The icon is there inside of the start menu folder for Square Enix but it is no longer "there". Windows cannot find the file. Any solutions to this?

reinstall? repair install? go into program folder into the SE folder and look to see if it's there.

To avoid the re-install I went another route. I have a RL friend that plays the game as well. I had him email me the .exe file for the config. Miraculously, this worked! Right when the download finished I ran it and was able to change things inside my game. However, on the start menu, the icon is still wrong for the config but surely that is just b/c I have not put the .exe file back into the folder. I would rather just run it the way it works for now rather than risk losing it again.

I did notice that there is not a "Repair Install" function available on the FFXIV disc that came in the package. The only option you receive when using the disc is a complete uninstall. This may be something to look at for future shipping of the game. Obviously it would take a good bit of time to get this in place but over the long haul may not be a bad idea at all.

I also did troubleshoot my way through this very diligently. One of the first things I did in the process was to in fact check the program folder for the file. It was not there. I had read on another person's topic that their anti-virus had possibly quarantined the file and deleted it. I don't recall the exact topic this was under but surely it had to do with the config file & it was post 1.19. If SE would be so kind to take a look into this and possibly patching to avoid deletion by Anti-virus.

Thank you for the opportunity to play a great game SE!
