    How would you feel if they scrapped the current "classes"?

    With SE obviously prepared to make big changes, (ie complete zone redesign) how would you feel if the current classes were scrapped and replaced with traditional ones?

    I personally would prefer them to do this than to try and and implement them into the game with the current mish mash of traditional classes, of course they better allow me to transfer my total SP/EXP onto the new classes of my choice ^^

    With the current system I also do not like being tied to a certain weapon, like on MRD it look's as if I will be tied to a G. Axe forever. For those of you who like to be able to change classes quickly you still could. They could just add a "class/job" button to the menu you click that and choose your class and it automatically would gear it and set your action bar up to however you had it the last time you played that class.

    How does everyone else feel about this, would you prefer they just kept it as is and left out traditional classes, or try to add them in on top of current ones, or just get rid of the current ones and replace with traditional?

    *EDIT* To clear things up I never said ANYTHING about changing the ARMOURY SYSTEM!!!! What I mean is you could define classes with TRAITS but still allow cross class abilities and skills. For example WAR could have Double Attack as a trait, BLM something to boost elemental nukes, WHM a trait that boosts cures, DRG a Wyvern, these are exclusive to the class as traits.

    Now when you level your BLM you could add you cure's from WHM, Provoke from WAR, BOOST from MNK and so on to create your ridiculous BLM tank hybrid class that you want so bad.

    I would love it, I see people are going nuts over a jump feature which has to be put into the game, but funnily where are the great swords! FF was built on Great swords! So what I mean is that get as much of the older classes into this game !

    I don't think there is an issue with the classes. The issue is with the armoury system and your character becoming a mixing pot of every other class.

    I think we can keep the classes as is just work the Armoury system.

    I have no desire to see FFXIV turn into FFXI the remake. Since the armory system is the primary difference between the two, I may as well just go back to FFXI if that happens (I'll have all that progress I've made over the years).

    No way they are going to get rid of classes. That im sure of. Classes and Jobs are not the same thing. FFXI had Jobs(which will become part of this game) However they will not get rid of our classes.

    Class = Weapon Specialist
    Job = Role Specialist

    The armory system is pretty much the best thing about this game for the most part, its just not completed yet.

    And thats the problem. We desperately need role specialist. This mix and match stuff has gotten very old and boring. Too much freedom is a bad thing. I don't think they will get rid of the current armory system (though I'd be in heaven if they did). However, I do hope that they inact the classic jobs in the form of talent trees as suggested by Kurokikaze.

    Freedom of Speech is part of the 1st Amedment! NOW! Freedom HAS LIMITATIONS! What, you want an example? Here you go. It's so funny and now really old news, but...........You can't yell BOMB! on an airplane.

    Now shut up, you diaper wearing adult babies. The Armoury system is too loose in the goose. There needs to be a little more limitations in there. If you can't handle that truth, then go back in the crib and suckle your bottle. Mommy will be in there soon to slap some baby powder on your bottom before you chafe.

    I never said anything about scrapping the Armoury system, I just meant adding BLM, WHM, WAR, DRG and so on you could still add abilities from other classes, though there should be more restrictions about what you could add. Think more about traits that a WAR has it could have double attack exclusive for it's class and things like that, abilities like Provoke could still be used on other classes.
