Your Questions So Far
Let's see if we can't flesh this idea out with your questions in this thread:
- Does the Buyer initiate a request from the MB or a retainer?
The buyer would initiate from a Retainer. Seems to make the most sense.
-- How many requests could be made simultaneously?
Good question. I imagine something like 1 per retainer? This could be increased based on how many requests you yourself fill! (See question #5 and #7)
-- Does TAX apply?
No Taxes. This would be the same thing essentially as someone trading you the items in person.
-- Will it allow partial fulfill a request? (like ppl asking for partial purchase)
Interesting idea for large requests. I'm sure the progamming script could be written to give a percentage of the reward based on the amount given - but I could see people's rewards diminishing and not having a strong incentive to have it finished.
So no, I would say each order would have to be filled in its entirety to receive the reward.
-- Do you get bonuses for using this type of thing? Do you receive FC points or GC points for doing this to encourage greedy people to use it?
The more you fill people's orders, the more orders you would be able to make. Probably have a cap at 20 requests, same as how many items one retain can sell, just for an arbitrary cap and keep things from getting out of hand (ie. one person with 255+ orders).
Earning FC Points sounds like a great idea too. For GC Points, I'm not sure if there are balancing issues there that I don't know about, but my first thought is to limit it to FC Points only.
-- Items as well as Gil?
Yup! I like it. This is basically like a grand version of the Trade feature. So I would agree that items could also be set as rewards.
-- It would be nice to have some sort of reward incentive system in place to get them to contribute more, and it would be useful if we had the option to limit these listings to a specific groups of people.
See questions #2 and #5 for rewards.
As for group-specific listings - I'm sure that could be programmed. If I were a SE employee in charge of this becoming real, I'd probably say that it would first come out for everyone to use; then work out the kinks; then add features like group-specific listings.
-- If someone puts a price in and no one wants to take it because that person wants too much for it, what then?
If this happens, it's the same as when you put up your items in the Auction Board - you have to go in and adjust the price. If you've put too low a reward, people won't do it and after a while, you'll have to increase the reward.
A quick check at current prices on the Auction Board of the item you want would give an idea of what it's going for.
There are always good samaritans that might fill your order for the funzies tho!
