    SMN Tertiary Stat Priority

PVP: As a Summoner, pre-3.0, I always stacked Crit > Det as my secondaries.

Post-3.0, I've stacked Crit > SS > Det as my secondaries in PVP; however, I'm starting to wonder if I should stack Crit > Det > SS in PVP since we are a little less dot reliant than we are in PVE (thanks: purify, enemies dying before the full dot cycle, etc.)

Det would also help boost Ruin spam and the PVP skill damage, which may be more of a boon than SS speeding up the kills.

(Crit is still king, of course).

    Thoughts on the tertiary stat?

Skill--->crit--->det---> speed, that for every dps, accu is only def skills helpfull, for caster uselees.

Few accuracy is good if somebody blind on you, you will still not miss. I m using myself 2 piece of accuracy gear(gloves and earrings).

This thread is not about accuracy and I would prefer not to derail it with that discussion.

So, Redfame, what's your reason for prioritizing Determination over Spell Speed in PVP? I'm interested in collecting opinions and (any) data on this.

Det at this cap is 8 det=~1(Int/mind/other)
Not sure where spell speed compares to it though. My guess on DoTs it scales nearly with det.

Yes - you are correct that Spell Speed does help DoTs. However, us SMNs are less DoT reliant in PVP than we are in PVE, hence my query for fellow experienced Summoners.

Well if you want highest damage done possible, you should spam dots more as possible and bane dots more as possible. That also reduce your burst dps, but increase your overall dps. Depends on your play style.

Yes, I know this. I guess I'm looking for more nuanced answers as opposed to obvious generalities. Overall, it will vary by play style, yes, but there is a sweet spot that on average will benefit the largest number of people playing SMN.

So far for PVP, I'm finding that it's a close balance between Det and Spell Speed, leaning more heavily toward SS. You want your spells to have a punch, but with a mostly Crit focus, leaning more Det than SS, cast/recast times over 2.43 are rough. Focused Crit and the rest all in Det gets you stuck at a slow 2.47.

Heav SS gets you to a much lower recast; almost all in SS after a focused Crit gets you a 2.38ish cast/recast, but you aren't hitting hard enough. I'm finding that focused Crit, with enough Spell Speed to hit 2.41/2.40 is ideal so far, with the rest in Det.

^ Numbers like that are the nuanced answers I'm looking for. I want to pull from a pool of shared experience.
