i'm confident I know what i'm doing...unless i'm learning new stuff then I might want some friendly faces around

Would just edit my last post but mobile site and too lazy to switch to desktop site >.> but:

A friendly face is always nice to have, but you also need to try not to read the chat with a bias of tone. There are plenty of times where people try to give advice kindly, but come off as condescending to the person learning because of word choice. And if the new person responds negatively to the advice, nice guy won't be so nice anymore.
