    before it wasn't just the fight, it was knowing the looks of the next boss, what mechanism they will have, what will the next floor will look like, what kind of loot will drop there and what will happen when I beat this monster...that's a lot of motivation for me that was taken away....

    I agree. Taking the lore away made savage dull. I'm still doing it cuz I guess I like the abuse? But really I constantly question the point... Coil= difficult contenti downed with my friends and was rewarded with unique gear, a cool story and of course dat sweet sweet epeenage. Savage= beat content to get same set of gear with higher stats. No unique gear. No story. th epeen feels used and tired lol

    I don't mind that Normal exists, but I think it's unfortunate that we lost raids that were the difficulty level of Coil in the trade. Savage is tuned like SCOB (Savage), and Normal is easier than most EX primals. I want to raid again but don't want the stress and pressure of fights so brutally tuned as the current Savage fights are.

    I don't know if I would go as far as to say "take away Alex NM". But it do think there needs to be more endgame stuff that's fairly challenging and not on duty finder. Turn this thing back into an MMO and not a glorified Dragon Age game with a subscription fee.

    Well, to be fair, in my case, it's more of the fact that Alexander sucks overall as a raid either normal or savage, it's so boring and reharshed mechanic wise, and savage plastered behind heavy gear walls as fake dificulty, It's so uninteresting that my static has basically fallen appart and people 2 days ago pretty much said they don't want to play anymore, which is depressing to me, since 6 out 8 of the members agreed that they felt there other stuff to play or do instead of playing FFXIV, I was of the same mentality but I was doing an effort but everyone is feeling the same as me.

    You cannot support a game this size off of old school hardcore MMO gamers alone. Especially since a lot of the old schoolers turned casual or dropped out a long time ago. Casual content is good for getting new blood into the game, and having progressively harder difficulty for that content is a great training tool. This game does a very nice job at making new players better as each dungeon gives new and harder challenges to overcome.

    I can't speak to the truly awesome gamers out there that think this game is too easy. I can speak for the new players I regularly group with whom certain dungeons give them nightmares, and they're too anxious to even try 8 player stuff. Over time this game gives people more confidence, and its a good design to have. So if a normal mode exists, and the newer players succeed, it'll only embolden them to try extreme modes.

    I'm not seeing how its a bad thing. On the contrary, it is how games should be developed. It's good design.

    I dont see how removing NM would make Savage more rewarding. If anything they need to give Savage unique mechanics and the like. But fully removing it? No, nothing would be gained in doing so.

    I have 4 points to make

    1. Not everyone is driven to work harder by their "mighty need" to complete the content at its hardest. Some people play to have fun and to absorb the story, because this is a final fantasy game.

    2. Not everyone can devote the time required to be in a hardcore progression group.

    3. Lore should never be gated by hardcore content.

    4. Honestly, there's already a content drought, and your suggesting limiting a portion of content to a handful of players. Ahaahaha.

    Get over it.

    You can already dye your Savage Equips (not forgetting that they're 20 levels superior than the Prototype version), that's more than enough. And you get an exclusive mount. Savage is just hard content, it's just there for the sake of the challenge, and it's WAY more balanced to have a normal mode so everyone can experiement the content than having only savage because a handful (just see the numbers of who cleared the Savage) of the players want all-exclusive content.

    "new 24 man raid will drop upgradable items to make our ESO 210 + new gear set from the 24 man raid and the new relic will drop so no point on doing savage at all imo..."

    Wasn't it like this since the beginning? Zetas on par with Dreadwyrm. And I really don't get these equipment LV complains, since the explorations will bring iLV210 that everyone can have with some grinding. I'd sit down and play, because by what we have seen and read until now, raiders won't have an exclusive tier of higher iLV equips anymore and that's GREAT to know.
