Wow, how insightful of you...if only SE agreed with that stupid s#@$ you call logic, you might have a point. Alas, they do not, which is why they are planning to FIX it.is it not the same when you fight ifrit? you have lets say : lancer a) and lancer b) they both spend as much on there gear and both fight ifrit together all the time, after 10 battles lancer a) has won a lancer and sword. but lancer b) has won nothing. both have put in the same effort, but luck can be a bitch, stop crying, get over it, this is the way games work

even when they fix the drop rate it will still always be random drops, you will never know what your going to get till you get it. you could be a lancer and get 5 swords and never get lance and your buddy could get 2 in a row. the point is the random/luck element will always exist. in drops and in materia melding
P.S. you didn't really have to get nazi on my example it was hypothetical
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
lol...this coming from the guy who said, "...luck can be a bitch, stop crying, get over it; this is the way games work." I don't mind a risk/reward program, but I don't want to have EVERYTHING I work my a#@ off for to be completely undermined by something as f$@#$@# stupid as this materia system.even when they fix the drop rate it will still always be random drops, you will never know what your going to get till you get it. you could be a lancer and get 5 swords and never get lance and your buddy could get 2 in a row. the point is the random/luck element will always exist. in drops and in materia melding

Got hq gear? Well, that used to be good, but now materia happened and there's no way you'll ever be able to make much use out of hq gear, unless you're stupid enough to risk losing something that's nearly as rare as the x2-x3 materia meld you're trying to get on it.
Got Unique/Untradeable gear? Well, that used to be good, but since materia can't be melded to it, it's complete garbage.
I don't mind blowing up the materia....that's understandable. But blowing up your F@#$@#@ gear? Is that REALLY, necessary? That has nothing to do with skill, or effort. It's 100% luck, and it's absurd to create a system that rewards luck over skill and dedication.
you are not going to see that many ppl (if any) running around with 7 pieces of HQ gear with 3 or more materia in them. for the simple fact like you nobody will want to risk it so don't worry about it, you will still have the coolest gear out of you and your friends. it will take a very long time before ppl have HQ gear sets with lots a materia and by the time they do there will be a lv cap increase and there gear won't be the best anyway.lol...this coming from the guy who said, "...luck can be a bitch, stop crying, get over it; this is the way games work." i wonder if you will complain when the lv cap increase happens "eww SE messing up my gear now i have to craft a whole new set and i just managed to put 2 materia in that boo hoo"

Breaking gears has boost the economy tremendously, i can hardly keep up with the demands. So, yes it is necessarry to keep the economy moving.
Dude lol...I don't care about gear becoming outDATED....what I do hate, though, is gear becoming OBSOLETE b/c SE failed to create a balanced system w/ the gear. The only thing that would KIND of save this crappy materia system is if they allowed U/U gear to be melded to, BUT w/ a special perk...U/U gear **cannot** bust...EVER. The materia can bust...but the gear ALWAYS stays. Then, ppl would constantly push for 3 materia on their U/U gear, and it wouldn't become useless the way it is now.you are not going to see that many ppl (if any) running around with 7 pieces of HQ gear with 3 or more materia in them. for the simple fact like you nobody will want to risk it so don't worry about it, you will still have the coolest gear out of you and your friends. it will take a very long time before ppl have HQ gear sets with lots a materia and by the time they do there will be a lv cap increase and there gear won't be the best anyway.
