The way it seems to me is that there are happy bards and angry bards. The angry bards are losing population as they lose interest in the game, and the happy bards are happy that they can finally get a decent raid group with the exodus of angry bards.

Doesn't MCH have a very similar mechanic that makes bards angry?

What makes many bards angry is the fact that the mechanic IS from MCH, and not something made for bard.

MCH doesn't have OGCDs that can reset randomly from DoT crits in the middle of casts.
MCH only has one 30 sec DoT that needs to be kept up instead of two every 18 sec.
MCH has a 30 sec buff shot that needs to be kept up instead of every 20 sec.
MCH's shots are instant when procced and that has a 50% chance of happening without ammo, and can be controlled with ammo for on-demand movement. BRD gets one proc that goes instant with only a 20% chance.
MCH animations are made for expecting procs sooner. BRD's heavy shot animation goes longer than the GCD when you include the cast time, which pushes their 20% proc to happen after the GCD. Since that shot is ALSO the one that needs to be reapplied every 20 sec, they could end up wasting TP and cast time on a non-instant, non-crit shot because they queued it like they're supposed to and it started casting before the game registered that it should be instant crit.

So yes, they have the same mechanic, but it's a mechanic made for them.

MCH procs help it so you do not need to cast as much and they have much oGCD's to work with also. Like someone said, the stance was made for MCH, then thrown on BRD afterwards.

To Summarise MCH was designed from the ground up with Gauss Barrel and the cast bars in mind, Wanderers Minuet was tacked on and expected to work.. because as we know drastically changing play styles and having clashing game play styled abilities never is bad.

Bard is so much more enjoyable now. I really hope the changes stick. It takes an added layer of skill to play what many considered the easiest job in the game. If you can't find any other enjoyment playing this game and are to stubborn to change, well, then it's not for you and good bye?

For all of you that are saying, "Brd is now a blm caster". Level BLM to 60 then let's hear you compair the two jobs. I have a level 60 brd and my friend has a level 60 blm. Brds cast are no where near blm cast. Not to mention BLM rotation is way harder then bards. Don't think so? Go on youtube and look up the new BLM rotation. Watch somebody do the new rotation on a casting dummy. Then imagine having to pull that off perfectly while having to move. Better yet, try it! Then come back here and complain about how BRD is to much like BLM. Because it's not.

The only side to the brd argument I can actually agree on is the procs on BRD need to function like the procs on MCH. But since 90% of the bards are crying about cast time, get over it. WM is not going to go away. If SE takes it away, I hope they just take it away. Give bards no damage buff so that we can get rid of these "bards are no longer mobile DPS". And go back to the days when bards just whined about not having high enough DPS.

Wait, you actually think BLM rotation is hard? BLM rotation is actually very simple. The only time there's any difficulty to BLM is literally only when there's movement required, and that has nothing to do with rotation, but Enochian upkeep. Any time you're able to turret, you've got the easiest rotation.

BLM is the class I play when I don't want to have to do too much to get big numbers.
