Sounds just like 2.0 bard and how you had to face mobs for AAs.
If SE wanted to make bard more interesting they did the exact opposite by making it into a BLM caster.

I'm still happy some people enjoy the changes but SE clearly had no time to actually work on bard and just slapped stuff from MCH without adjusting the tool kit. Also, songs have not improved at all yet SE says we are a hybrid. .. where's the do this to enhance this songs potency, lower cost, increase dmg, change effect, etc?
Sadly, bard is in need of serious love to get its identity back.
