Wings!

I would love the ability to fly without a mount. Be it with wings or with aether, I would love the ability to fly. Flight was one of my favorite things about DC Universe Online. It felt awesome to just take off and fly whenever I wanted. I don't see any reason why SE couldn't add unmounted flight to the game. It would add something else that would be fun to the game, and anytime anything is added that makes the game more fun is a plus in my book.

Also, for everyone complaining about "Wings everywhere!". Maybe SE could make it so that wings can only be displayed in areas where you can summon a mount. I think that may solve that problem for those that feel that wings in town would be something that they would not like to see.

Then you must be quite peeved at seeing everyone being the Warrior of Light, huh?

With how the story is in XIV, the player is the only "true" Warrior of Light, everyone else you hang out and/or party with are just adventurers.
That doesn't explain things like people using ancient, forbidden magic like Black or White magic though...

Actually, wings do match Final Fantasy. They're the trope codifiers for "one-winged angel" and all. I just don't think it would match FF14's warrior of light. Maybe you'd see it on the Ascians or a Primal.

That trope doesn't actually relate to wings, it refers to when the big bad in a story transforms into a battle form of some kind (usually monstrous). The name comes from the song "One-Winged Angel" that plays when you fight Safer Sephiroth in VII.
