Hello everyone, having some issues and I was told by Square Enix support to create a thread for support in the forums and I figured it couldn't hurt.
I'll lay out as much information has I have on the issue that I know and that I've tried.
My issue is this; I have recently begun to experience intermittent connectivity issues in the form of freezing, lag, and disconnects with 90000 & 90002 error codes, I am playing on the PC. As it's intermittent I can go a few hours without difficulty, but when I'm trying to level up my tank or playing my Ninja in Heavensward and I find the 'Rabbit Medium' technique or I lose aggro or worse I suddenly find myself dead after a full minute of nothing happening due to a lag spike, it can be frustrating.
The issue begun this Thursday 17 Sept. after installing Heavensward.
I will also note that I had issues installing Heavensward also getting the "Unable to download patch files" approx every 10 - 15 minutes or so, I was able to force my way through this issue out've stubbornness however.
So, next round of questions will be, "What have you tried already?" or some permutation of the like.
Here are the basics of what I've done thus far and other useful tidbits.I am on Aether world center on Balmung, I live in north east United States.
- My firewalls are allowing FFXIV to pass inbound and outbound.
- No antivirus software are currently running.
- Ports are being forwarded. (UDP: 55296-55551, 334, TCP: 80, 110, 8080, 443, 55296-55551)
- Both PC and Laptop have same issues.
- Occurs when wired or wireless.
- Not using a bridge connection.
- Adapters, routers, network cards... are all up to date on firmware and software.
- ISP told me my network was fine.
- Running a Geforce 980ti, Intel i7 3.6GHz CPU, 24Gb RAM (For 3d modeling), Laptop has Geforce 980mobile, i7 4x 2.7GHz with 16Gb RAM, 512 SSD. Both run on Win 7 Professional. (Just ruling out my specs as a potential issue).
- Set the executable to run with as admin (didn't actually think it would work... but yeah...)
- I have contacted square for support and they couldn't offer any more advice beyond what I have already tried, but they did mention:
- There was a fire in my area hitting an internet fiber-line connection for my area but:
- When I called my ISP they said it occurred on Friday (The day after I tried to play and started having issues and 2 days after my installation issues).
- The damage to the fiber line was for a different switch then the one I'm on.
- That was a week ago and the connectivity issues are still just as bad.
- I haven't played the game for months before last Thursday but when I did it was perfectly fine without issues.
- My internet speed on other applications is decent enough (A meager 15Mbits/1.8MBs down)
- I've tested it on other MMOs like ESO/TSW and they work consistently enough.
- Video streaming like Netflix/Youtube work smoothly throughout the day.
- Even when the issues start my Teamspeak regular internet usually remains fine.
"Could I try the internet somewhere else to test?"
Alas, not really? University plus work and a handicap preventing me from driving makes my MMO gaming limited sadly.
"What kind of router do you have?"
At the moment? A Belkin N600 Dual Band (The original 6 year old model).
I'm upgrading in a couple days to a TP-LINK Archer C7 as I don't get signal in my living room.
(Again, since plugging in wired to the modem didn't work I'm not sure this will help with my current issue).
I apologize for the wall of text. I work in IT myself and I find the more info the better when helping someone.
I quite enjoy this game and the community so I'd really like to put this behind me.
