Assuming the player that CHOSES to be powerleveld wants to experience that? Again I don't think that's stronger than the argument of people taking EXP in a grind spot. You miss the point of the game, then. The point is not getting level 50. It's participation in a world, interacting with people, and ultimately having fun while struggling to achieve.
Getting 100k exp in an hour removes that point entirely.
And last I recall, FFXI generally frowned upon PLing (the exploitative ones like SMN burns, not the mild ones where an outside friend would help heal your party), and also required everyone to level up each individual job that they wanted to sub/cap. I'm pretty sure XI did very well in that regard.

Powerleveling is always a double-edged sword. these people may be getting crazy xp, but it doesn't meant they are learning how to play thier class well, if at all. even if I get pl'd by friends, I will usually spend more time soloing in order to learn what my limits are.I'm on a bit of both, but for personal reasons.
I dont like instant-50 or PLing because it would ruin a core feature of a site I Run
On the other hand
Levelling is a pointless feature to a game and is a massive roadblock to the casual player where as its nothing to those who can have 4-5 friends playing 24/7.
How can you make both happy?
Ultimately, leveling IS a necessary evil, since if you gave the player all of a classes abilities from the start, they would be expected to know how to play that class by more experienced players. Levels allow for a gradual learning curve.
I'm all for helping a friend out by keeping them alive or giving them a minor exp boost while leveling so they can level faster. But the rates of exp that are being reported are broken and horrendously unfair. I can't understand why you'd be arguing for that. There shouldn't be the option to get to 50 in 3 weeks, or 2 days, or whatever. If you want easy mode then play a different game that gives it to you. It's my hope that this isn't what SE had intended when they said PLing.Assuming the player that CHOSES to be powerleveld wants to experience that?

i see the same people supporting being able to go from 40-50 in a day grinding now that complained about leves giving you 100k........ you can now get over 100k easily in an hour and you still have 23 hours with no fatigue to keep doing it. the sp given by leves during link parties now feels like baby sp compared to what they give now in parties.

Or you could go play a different game since this game does give that to us.I'm all for helping a friend out by keeping them alive or giving them a minor exp boost while leveling so they can level faster. Hunting you down and posting in threads I've already been posting in? Jeez, that sounds likely.

This is probably the best post on this thread so far.Powerleveling is always a double-edged sword. these people may be getting crazy xp, but it doesn't meant they are learning how to play thier class well, if at all. even if I get pl'd by friends, I will usually spend more time soloing in order to learn what my limits are.

Like I've stated before I agree with power leveling. It should be something a person chooses to do. I enjoy the game differently than those against power leveling, clearly. But to go as far as to say it's ruining a person day? lolwat?
As far as learning to play, I have played games where a person never gets power leveled, has leveled 5+ characters to cap, and doesn't know how to play well. I'm sure there are cases like that here as well.
It shouldn't matter how I get to level cap or how fast, I play the game the way I want to.
:Edit:Why not, because you don't want there to be? Would it make you happier if they abolished power leveling? Why? So players can enjoy all tiers of content? What if all they want is to kill the dragon and get phat loot IN THIS GAME because they like the classes and combat in this game.I'm all for helping a friend out by keeping them alive or giving them a minor exp boost while leveling so they can level faster. But the rates of exp that are being reported are broken and horrendously unfair. I can't understand why you'd be arguing for that. I'm sure SE will do something about the rate of EXP gain if it's too high when power leveling, but I don't think the should remove it. As far as playing easy mode, I play for end game content, not grinding levels. As I haven't gotten to level cap, and raided I have no say on how "easy" or "hard" those instances are. I have completed end game content on other games, and the reason I don't play those is because they are too easy, here's hoping to unique, difficult end game content when i get there, else I'll have to find a new game to play.

I leveled when SP was bad and am leveling when EXP is good.
I'm enjoying the game.
I fail to see the problem.
Also: WAAAAAAAH
Then leave. You say that like threatening to leave will make any of us care.
While I agree with what your saying here, compared to many other MMO's, pre 1.19, I dont feel like anyone had to work their ass off to get to 50. There were people that were 50 shortly after the game released. It was not at all difficult. All I see in these powerlevel/whining threads is jealousy to be honest. We (as long time players) had to work our asses off to get to 50, so you all think that everyone else should have to as well. Now what if we (as high level players) want to enjoy content with players who are new to the game, or vice-versa. The best way I see to do that is to power level the low level players. I have no problem with that what-so-so ever. If you're concerned about the low-level content not being a challenge, then don't level up all your classes. I fail to see how anyone elses levels affect you at all.
