I'll be honest, I don't know how powerleveling could ruin the gameplay also because you can PL only till 30 maybe 35. Sure, perhaps it should be fixed a little bit, but I think that someone is doing the problem bigger than it is.

Other people already did a pretty good job of explaining how it affects their gameplay.
If you want to level legitimately, the pool of other people for parties matters quite a bit. If only a percentage of people want to party without power-leveling, then you have only that percentage to work with. If everyone is instead forced to gain experience with those around their own level, then your pool is much larger.
Beyond that, there is also an issue with "campsites" and how people use them. If some level 50 characters are slaughtering level 30 targets, they've monopolized the whole place. If that wasn't useful for something, it would be free for people to gain EXP in normally - perhaps even more than one group to do so.
Finally, there are the hazier concerns about game balance and sense of accomplishment and such. In some games reaching the maximum level is a major achievement. Even if it is difficult to do without power-leveling, the option lessens the sense of accomplishment because they "could have just done it the easy way." Overall, with rising in level being very easy, you also end up with a game that has a pointless grind followed by content, rather than the RPG ideal of content alongside progression. Basically, the population influences the content and if everyone is max level due to power-leveling, why would the developers bother making content for level 30 players?
People keep bringing up how Abyssea is SE's legitimized PLing feature in FFXI. What they forget is that if you're a new or returning player hoping to enjoy anything outside of Abyssea, you're pretty much SoL.

Love how she didn't reply to this.Other people already did a pretty good job of explaining how it affects their gameplay.

OP: Since you weren't involved in the party, I fail to see how this affected you. Yes, they should fix it, but I don't really see why you're raging so hard. It's not like they interfered with anything you were doing.

All I see in these powerlevel/whining threads is jealousy to be honest. We (as long time players) had to work our asses off to get to 50, so you all think that everyone else should have to as well. Now what if we (as high level players) want to enjoy content with players who are new to the game, or vice-versa. The best way I see to do that is to power level the low level players. I have no problem with that what-so-so ever. If you're concerned about the low-level content not being a challenge, then don't level up all your classes. I fail to see how anyone elses levels affect you at all.
While I agree with what your saying here, compared to many other MMO's, pre 1.19, I dont feel like anyone had to work their ass off to get to 50. There were people that were 50 shortly after the game released. It was not at all difficult. All I see in these powerlevel/whining threads is jealousy to be honest. It affects me in a lot of ways that you are only going to put down even more to make your point better. I'm not gonna get in some stupid a** forums fight trying to explain my point.
POWER LEVELING IS STUPID. The end.
