The issue I've had is regent effects that last longer than a trash pull , and the tank doesn't click it off.

Ok yeah, Regen, Medica II, Aspected Benefic and Helios are bad, pre-pull. We get that. No arguments here.
But this. If the fight ends and the tank has like, under 10 seconds left on a HoT, a lot will run over to the next pack of monsters that is a hop and a skip away and pull with Shield lob or something when the HoT still has a couple seconds on them. Maybe the HoT was miss-timed (whoops, threw it up and there's only 2 mobs left with a little less than half HP left and the DPS burned through them), but I can't even recall a tank since HW launched that was proactive enough to manually remove a HoT before they ran into the next group of monsters (let alone even let it wear off naturally if they don't know how).
So yeah, if you're telling your healer not to HoT before a pull/ clicking it off and they aren't getting the message; there are ignorant healers just like about every other role and job in this game. But it's an avoidable mess if the HoTs were from a previous group and the next group was pulled anyway.
There is something eloquently beautiful in a castrum run when a whm pre-casts medica 2 for the face pulling tanks. The cascading aggro lines are quite wonderous..
Think there is misinformation to all sides. Healers who precast regen effects just before fights on purpose. Tanks who don't remove an accidentally badly timed regen effects from the previous fight. And then tanks who remove / wait a precast shield to wear off like it was regen.
If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.
Late to the party, but would like to point out; any tank can out aggro regen, regen doesn't build a ton of aggro, the issue is that you pull aggro on things BEFORE the tank has aggro on them.
As a PLD if I have a regen up, I'm too lazy to click it off on PS4 (something I'm getting more accustomed to now with The Arrow) so I'll just readjust how I'm doing the pull. I'll line it up so that once I shield lob one and the others automatically rush the healer (which is unavoidable because you healed while I had only 1 point of aggro on all but one mob), I'll be in the correct position to be able to tag all the trash with a Flash before they maul your face. On the other hand, if I'm not prepared for it, then you get the trash. It's not a matter of quantity of aggro, it's a matter of complicating things for your tank due to your impatience. IDM it too much on my PLD, but it's a horrible, lousy habit for a healer and when I see them doing it to DF tanks I want to sit them down and teach them how to participate in a party.
I'll have to admit, when I was still leveling up my healer, I was guilty of using the Regen at all times, even outside of battle. One of my friends brought it to my attention that it was why I was getting aggro during pulls. (I'm not entirely sure why I didn't catch on beforehand haha. I'm a bit derpy sometimes.) It took some time after that to get used to casting it at the right times. I only do it after all the mobs have been pulled and I get the tank up to a decent health, and then I refresh it until there are only a couple of enemies left. Then I just Cure the rest of the time. Sometimes I accidentally hit it though, but I usually ask the tank to remove it if that happens.
I've never noticed this to really be a problem as tank. It definitely is a problem if you're going to do bigger pulls though I suppose.
I main Healer but occasionally DPS and when I see (or read about) healers throwing up Regens before pulls i shake my head.
On the flip side of that I get irritated with tanks who pull in the middle of my Stoneskin cast and then I get aggro. I suppose these things happen in PUGs tho.
I admit maybe most healers don't notice it, I know I had no clue until a Tank pointed it out to me cus this was my first game as a healer.
I can not stand that, cus I am pretty certain you hear a ding, see a line from AND see a cast bar. Though I've gotten into the habit lately of casting stone skin at the last 10% of a mobs life or just swiftcast + stoneskin.
Open your pull with your aoe threat.
