When I tank I sometimes forget to click a regen off, but I know my way with snap aggro that it's really just an annoyance. Now if medica II is cast before a pull I no longer tolerate letting that pass, and will speak up about them never doing that again as a healer. One said it was just for funsies, which I didn't believe at all. You know how it is when you see others playing your main job in a way that makes your eyes roll.

Unfortunately healing in a non-raid environment is really trivial in this game and maybe for this very reason there are a LOT of terrible healers that have no idea how this game works or what they're supposed to do to effectively support the party other than just healing.
Unfortunately there isn't any punishment in casual content for poor heal timing either. Whereas raids like turn 13 where a poorly timed AoE during giga would get their aggro so high that they could die to the add before the OT can pull. Of course the skill floor for healing is low outside of content like extreme primals and alex savage.

But if they want to just hit buttons to heal every paper-cut, while regen is up, and overhealing I just turn-off tanking stances like Grit. I do it all the time in Neverreap since the bosses hit like a wet noodle anyway. As you say, cooldowns are optional at that point because you don't need them if you are getting overhealed, lol.
