Trading gil for gil between servers - Is this against the rules?

I would like to get an answer from a Dev if possible.

If a player from A. Server wants to transfer to B. Server and vice versa, can the 2 players transferring out of their servers trade their gil for gil?

    For example,
    1. Player A in Gilgamesh has 5 mil wants to transfer to Hades.
    2. Player B in Hades has 5 mil wants to transfer to Gilgamesh.
    3. Players are limited to 1m per character per transfer.
    4. To bypass this, the two players agree to trade 5m for 5m.
    5. Player A gets 5m from Player B in Hades.
    6. Player B gets 5m from Player A in Gilgamesh.

Would a transaction like this be against the rules? It is all in game trading and no real life money involved.

Could I get some comments from the devs?

Seems like a RMT to me , but i hope you get the devs approval.

RMT stands for Real Money Tranfer/Trade. I think. It's not allowed to trade something with real life value to something with only game value or vice versa.

Trading In-game items/services seems fine to me, even if it's across servers. It's a good idea to write the rules of the exchange in game chat, both to prove it's not RMT and to ensure you don't get scammed.

Assuming both stocks of gil was legitimately made, I don't see why it wouldn't be fine. Trading is a normal function of the game, regardless of what each person in the transaction gets; so if someone wants to hand over 1/10/100 mil gil to someone else without anything in return (in this case, on one server at a time), that is their prerogative. However, I wouldn't expect SE to step in if the trade goes south, as each trade is done separately on each server, and technically not counted as the same.

    Would this be against TOS?

Grey area really and I can't imagine much of an issue if it was a one time transaction for both players. I imagine making a habit of such a risky trade would possibly get the accounts flagged for RMT like activities.

I think its fine. The real issue is that GM's can't intervene in the case one or the other gets scammed during the transaction though. Even if the agreement is made and logged ingame via /tells were talking about two separate worlds, possibly 4 separate characters, which i imagine is something the GM's can't monitor.

However, there is also an official premise that things that GM's can't intervene or monitor tend to fall under unacceptable behavior. For example, server wide lottery games run by players.

I hope it's fine. I don't exactly see anything wrong with it. But I don't want to start actively advertising for a possible trade and then get slapped on the wrist ;/

One of the reasons GMs would probably say to not do it is, how are they supposed to discuss the terms in game? Can't verify scam etc?

How do the funds get transferred? Alts?

Think it would be third parties in both cases or via FC facilities. So it would be something like you are to transfer this amount of gil to this person. Or they setup alts on eachothers servers do the transfer that way and then figure it out how to deal with the rest.

Sure there is a lot of risk to this venture, but it is a risk I am willing to take. They are already forcing us to throw away all our hard earned gil while we are paying them to transfer us, I demand I keep at least most if not all of my gil.

If this isn't against ToS, then I will gladly take the risk. Though I am going to a JP server, people are a lot more... trustworthy (lack of a better word...) there; so that's something.
