    Upgrading to Digital Collectors.

Hey there! So I purchased both games Via Steam, so naturally I have as its said, "Steam copies" of both games. Both games were bought as standard editions, in case that is relevant.

Now I see on the MogStation that I can upgrade to the digital Collectors edition of both games for $30 which naturally gives me the mounts, items, etc etc.

Considering I bought both copies via steam, will I still be able to upgrade through the client and the MogStation? I tried googling for a little clarity, but came up empty handed. I just don't wanna upgrade both only to find it messes with the state of my account somehow.

    Thanks for your time!

Having asked most of my FC and some people on a facebook group I'm in, it seems nobody has an answer. I'm being told that I may need to buy the "Steam verions of the CE editions" but thats close to $70, whereas a direct upgrade on the mogstation is $30. Has NOBODY purchased these games via steam and then upgraded Directly? I'm not sure what to do here. I posted in here as I've been playing for a week, so the New player Forum seemed the best place to put this =[

I suspect doing it via Mog Station is safe regardless of whether the original purchase was via Steam, so long as you're already logged into the relevant account.

Hello, I bought both of the standard versions from steam, then later upgraded to the collector's edition for 30$ though Mogstation. Never got any problems.

I upgraded on PS4 but they just asked which character I wanted the rewards to go to - they didn't ask me to specify PC/PS4 etc. I think the items are credited to the character account (which can be carried across versions) rather than to the console/Steam account of the player.

The Collector's Edition upgrade is just a status on your SE account that you should get the bonus items. Since it doesn't involve any new software, I don't think the usual rule about needing Steam versions to upgrade other Steam versions should apply. And if you have multiple platform types licensed, it should be available across all of them once you've bought the upgrade once.

I upgraded ARR to CE after buying it as PS3 Standard Edition. The bonus went to all characters, and continued to do so after I'd moved to PS4 and made new alts there. Now, that's all characters on a Square Enix account. I don't know if Steam lets you link multiple SE accounts to the same Steam account. If so, it would only be global to the SE account and not the Steam account.
