IMO this is the single greatest addition to the game yet! Not only did you guys revitalize the economy, but you succeeded in creating a desire to grind post level 50. I don't care much for crafting or gathering, but I certainly love killing stuff in this game. With only 3 battle classes left to get to 50 (and those 3 are pretty close) I'm no longer feeling like I'm gonna be left looking for ways to to have fun in this game. I can now also make a major contribution to my LS and the server as a whole by buying gear grinding and turning that gear into materia.
