Housing solution (suggestion)

How do we solve this problem and still make people happy?

1. First thing to do is stop the leak. We need to first prevent alts from buying housing and reselling them for higher prices. how? Restrict housing to 1 house per account for personal.

2. Next we need to patch the leak up. Refund all housing that are owned by accounts with more than 1 house that are not mains. The best way to do this is to find the characters with the most and recent time and have them keep that house. The other characters/alts will be refunded the price of purchase or estimate refund as well as the content return to them unbound.

3. Clean up the mess and prevent future problems. Now open housing and make specific houses only FC housing. In other words... you can't buy that specific house unless it is for FC use. Also allow the option for a personal house to be converted to a FC house only one time. This will also allow more room to free up.

While this method may be cruel to alt players who own houses for their own amusement it is the best option that is fair to all players. Please note that I own a medium personal house and understand the situations that other players are facing today. Being denied of content because of another player's greed is unacceptable and should be fixed by square as soon as possible. Adding more plots will not solve the problem; It will only delay it.

Honestly I'd say let the FC homes be in the places we have now, let personal housing be in its own instance much like, sadly only thing I can compare to is Runescape haha. Let friends visit but honestly, how many of you actually walk into other peoples homes to look at the decor? Its more for personal taste and use anyway, I stick to my FCs house and that is about it, being in a void of just my own home would do me just fine. Hell that would also open us up to our own personal taste of scenery too.

I agree at that aswell. I think the sub levels should on be personal housing while the upper levels should be FC use. It is so quite for a FC that is surrounded by empty houses.

this may still be a great financial loss to the owners effected by your 'solution'. what they paid for materials or items in whole may not have the same value today as when they made these purchases. then you still have the potential of further loss due to the under cutting on the market. cant see those who would be effected by this being too thrilled

it is not a perfect plan, but in any plan someone is going to lose.

SE needs to man up and make sweeping changes to the system, you cannot give everyone who wants a house in the wards. It's not feasable, personal housing needs to be moved to instances, hundred of options for that are available but SE refuses to either do they work for it, or own up to their slapdash implementation of personal housing.

There is no solution to the "Housing problem" in the current system.
