the whole housing situation in this game upsets me

Being from a more populated server, Odin, all houses have been bought up for half a year now. With so many people wanting to buy and no land to buy what happens is real estate wars begin. Players pay players money unofficially to relinquish the land. Judging from this it's against the rules to do so, meaning that anyone involved in trading property can easily be scammed.

With such a property shortage, trading being against the rules and rising plot prices I really wish that at least something was done about it.

I wouldn't mind if we could buy instanced housing.

I wouldn't mind if we held a physical deed to our place, meaning that trading would be safer.

As it is right now, the situation is really not okay.

Won't really solve the problem unless they add a lot of it. The ability to lose your house after being unsubbed for a few months should alleviate the issue a bit though.

As long as real money isn't used I don't see why its against the rules. Things get sold all the time on the MB, why would someone selling a house plot be any different? Though I know that is not the core of the thread, just don't see it being wrong.

I also don't see what the big deal is about adding another housing area(s). I don't think there will ever be enough housing. The only reason I bought one was for the garden and stable, as I am not part of a FC. They should just add a feature where friends can use your garden or stable if they wished, that would probably please quite a few people.

Honestly... I don't believe this "GM" for one second. We've had people buying and selling houses on the official forum for so long...There is no way it's against the rules. All those threads would have been deleted forever ago.

Well the housing is pretty messed up and not saying they don't have the right to do it cause they do if they want they want to do but there people out there that have no interest in a house and will just buy one knowing how housing is and just turn around and sell 2-5 times the price it originally cost.

I don't know about other servers, but I know there's a lot of plots on Lamia that are owned by people who never sign in any more, and they've already said they're going to start reclaiming those plots in one of the near future Patches. Also, with the the Chaos Data center physically moving to EU, it will give them a bit more room on the current data centers and maybe they can work on adding in more plots. It sucks, I'm stuck in the same spot... but nothing to be done about it.

NY: Yes, we are working on it, and there are three phases. The first step is working on abandoned houses, so there’s no owner, or player there actually. The second step is to make it available to players that they can move house. There is no system in game yet that can help you to change the house, so we want to help and support this in the game. With these two steps we will be able to have some empty plots. Then we want to see if we have to open up an Ishgard plot or add more plot to the existing areas. That is the third step. We want to be careful here and judge the situation first. We are working on step 1 and 2 already. There will be some updates, probably in patches 3.1 to 3.15, around this time.

Of course, it might get delayed until next year
