I have to disagree with you here. Making healing your sole focus means you do nothing but heal. I'm not going to stand there doing nothing while I wait for the tank to take damage. Good healers know when it's safe for them to do some DPS.

1. With caution, please inform you team and consider their reaction in regards to tanking in dps stance. Make a sound choice based on gear lvl and also effectiveness of you party.
I also have to disagree with you here. As a tank, I know what I can and can't handle. If the healer is undergeared, of course I'm not going to be tanking in DPS stance. The vast majority of the time though, the healer wouldn't even notice that I was in DPS stance unless I happened to get myself killed and the DPS wouldn't notice unless I happened to lose hate. When I enter a dungeon, I go in there with the intention of helping to make the run as quick and painless as possible. If I need to do that by keeping extra mitigation, so be it. If I need to do it by putting out extra DPS, so be it. I don't, however, think that I should have to ask the permission of the entire party. Do DPS ask the tank or healer when they are allowed to use Raging Strikes or Blood for Blood?
