This is but a small list of proper etiquette all roles in a party I suggest players need to follow with specific ones based on the role played:
General:
1. Properly and nicely acknowledge anyone who has greeted you upon entry into your group. I.E. Hello, Hi, Good morning ETC......
2. Wear appropriate gear inside the Dungeon or event unless you state at the start of such event that you are spiritbinding gear so we may adjust accordingly.
3. If you must step away for real life happenstance, please do the proper courtesy by nicely saying you will need a moment or that you will be right back. It will go a long way to ensure others in your group do not Vote Kick you for being AFK.
4. Help others in your party with information if you clearly know that it is their first time in such event or dungeon. Be it boss mechanics or if you are planning on doing large pulls so the party know with confidence what is to occur.
5. If you are new to a dungeon or event in your specific role, please inform your team so we may help with information or possibly adjustments to playstyle of the party.
DPS:
1. As a dps, never pull or intentionally grab aggro from the tank to make a dungeon run faster or if you feel that they are not going fast enough. If you feel that the tank is being to cautious, feel free to inform them of your opinion and let the party make a consensus of what speed the dungeon or even should be accomplished.
2. Parsers are banned and illegal in FF14. If you are using such device contrary to the EUA, then keep such information to oneself and do not call out or disrespect another player if you see that they are doing bad dps. Approach them with information vital to the role they are playing in a kind and honest suggestion to help them progress and play such job better.
3. If you are assigned DPS, please accomplish you task as you assigned yourself to do and to the best of your ability play such job optimally. As your teammates, we can clearly see the effort a person does and when a player is just spamming one or 2 abilities. Also please make sure to try your best to avoid Aoes to put less burden on tanks and the healers in your team.
Healer:
1. With great respect, please make sure at all times that all available buffs are activated and please make sure that you inform your tank that you need mana or some other resource to continue.
2. Only when appropriate, please make sure your sole focus in a event or dungeon is to heal. It can be quite easy to lose track of your role and to allow you tank to die if you focus to much on dps and not on healing.
3. Cleanse and such similar abilities are incredibly important to be used in dungeons and events. There are to many times in such teammates are curse with some ailment that could easily be taken care of by this quick and effective ability to make the party more effective as a whole.
Tanks:
1. With caution, please inform you team and consider their reaction in regards to tanking in dps stance. Make a sound choice based on gear lvl and also effectiveness of you party.
2. Please do not solely rely on your healer to keep you alive. Tanks have a vast array of defense abilities that sometimes are incredibly unused that could easily alleviate the pressure of you support structure within one's team.
3. Only pull a appropriate amount of trash mobs that you can confidently tank. Also, please inform you team of such actions so they can be prepared to focus on burst heals and AOE damage. Make sure to fully utilize all your debuffs and abilities to hold aggro and while sustaining focus on such group.
This has been a short list of guidelines I feel that would help alot of people in regards to their experiences inside Duty Finder Dungeons and Events. Following these simple and respectable suggestions will create a positive time for all in effect while also sustaining team cohesion.
