    Green Mage in Tactics A2 were supporting jobs; they mainly cast buffs on party members and debuffs on opponents. They had no healing capabilities. They did have Shell and Protect, but no Cure. They were great to sub as a support class for Elementalist. Quite deadly for them, too

    I know they couldn't heal in A2 but I designed them as a healer to fit with in the Trinity. >A>()

    Was support really that useful? I found it easier to just insta-murder everything.

    i think melee healers will always be a big problem in this game.

    look at the A4 mechanic and Ifrit EX mechanic. healers are most often targeted with the "everybody stay away from them" type of debuffs.

    I'd prefer to see the existing classes/jobs given a bit more depth in general, as well as adding a cross class/job trait system that let's players pick from available traits to customize their abilities a little more, long before they add another job.

    Also, your idea sounds like White mage with green clothes and a crystal mechanic to replace simply casting a spell.

    In my humble opinion, Mind should have been the de-facto choice for White Mage's attack spells. Mind you, I would have also advocated removing things like Aero and Stone and replacing them with spells like Banish and Dia like we had in 1.0. At least the element choice would make more sense for a white mage.

    I'm the opposite here. I think FFXIV should aim for creating unique jobs. Yes the traditional job is nice here and there, but they should be balanced with brand spanking new concepts. FFXIV can be as much of a trendsetter as any other game.

    "Hey, the new FFXXI is coming out. I hear you can play as a <thing>. I'm so excited! <thing> was one of the best classes to come out of XIV. Its XVII counterpart was lackluster, but if it plays like it did in XIV and XX, it will be amazing."

    It was actually really good because you could have Assassin-Green Mage increase your accuracy and use that insta K.O. hit.
