Can you tell me bards why so much hatred....

Since 3.0 I love to read the ideas from the classes, changes, etc... but what I don't get is Why bards are whinning... some people that uses programs that should not be named here told me that bards DPS is higher than Machinist DPS+ Torret DPS... so Why?????
Machinist are trying to learn more about the class and you guys are just saying that you want to be as useful as ever (with foe, ballad and payon) but with a Melee DPS...
Please help the forum to be a community that help people to get better by trading experiences... in the bard related posts i just se whinners and people crying because the class still has the same average difference between Melee and Ranged.

*Look at your cast... it's a 1,5 seg cast... you will still have a 1 segs to walk between each skill and if you make use of the server lag you can walk even earlier... so....

Well, suppose we add cast times to Dragoon.

Or Monk.

Or Ninja.

Or Warrior, Paladin, Dark Knight.

We'll make the cast times short enough that you can still weave in an oGCD. And you'll still have 1s where you can walk between each skill and if you make use of the server lag you can walk even earlier.

How would you feel?

ok... so make Monk, ninja, warrior, paladin and dark knight attacks the enemy with ranged attacks so... Imagine a party with 6 bards with different names and 2 healers... wow... such a nice game....
Alright... let me talk about a magic skill on FFT and maybe we have on another FF... CHARGE... archers on FFT used to charged their bows to maximize their damage... So this is the explanation why it fits the "cast" or charge... and you guys just dunno the importance of the Bard and machinist on a party... "OMFG I'm out of TP/MP, if it wasn't for the bard in my party I would lose so much dps, and maybe my allies too... thanks BRD/MCH" or " Hey BRD, I'm a Magical DPS class, can you play foe?" but noo....MY DPS IS NO GOOD, ME NEED MORE DPS, MY CLASS SUCHS NOW, I DON'T WANNA BE A BOW MAGE, HATRED HATRED, HATRED, F*** YOU DEVS, YOU BROKE MY CLASS

Aside from what others already said -- it has nothing to do with DPS levels -- that stuff isn't what I said at all. Nor have I or others claimed that BRD can't do well in raid, can't have high DPS, that songs aren't useful, and so on and so forth.

I think he is there because shit happens... and people love the class... the normal formation is 2 Melee, 2 ranged ( one physical and one magical)
this still happens, raid groups seeks BRD because of their songs... I know.. just 3... but they are awesome... if you put a damaging song just like Ballad or foe... people will use this song because they need to do more dps,
my friend play as bard... he is more or less the same ilv from the rest of his party... he is doing almost the same damage as the monk, and they are clearing A1 and A2 just fine.. so...

Are static has two casters SMN, and Blm.
We love that foes from bard, and are bard is number two in dps in A1S, and A2S. Dude kicks ass. So bard is powerful just need to play it right.

A huge amount of the complaints aren't about damage done at all, so you should probably refrain from trying to assert that there's nothing to complain about just because damage is okay for now.

It's not that it's a bad class or bad idea. It's just horribly implemented. For one thing you don't have a class play a certain way for 51 levels then yank the rug out from under them with an ability that changes the entire play style. It would be like having ninja go pure ranged at lvl 52 it changes everything that some people liked about the class. Add to it that cast timers are forcing us to miss bloodletter and straighter shot procs and it negatively affects people who chose bard because it's mobile playstyle compensated for higher latency and you have a formula for very angry players.
