If you keep discarding just to wait for that perfect expanded balance, you'll end up less efficient than someone who utilizes all their cards.
30 seconds of 0 card effects is no good either, especially if RNG is unkind
We have to take a look at the situations, that happens in real.Astrologian card control is about extending your options with their card management skills. If you royal road before having a card on Spread or knowing that your abilities won't be ready to use for next draw means you're minimizing your card output instead of maximizing it. So basically you're more dependant from RNG, the same RNG that you should be controling will be controlling you.
I queue up, get invite and have a party with DRK/Caster/Caster.
Then I have increased strengh in the royal road.
I draw. Tower -> Shuffle -> Tower.
Many times this happens.
I don't want to waste my RR for that card. I don't wand to hold it because I will never need it.
So what do? Cancel or let it run out.

Never is a strong word miss. Guessing "tower" is Spire, You sure don't know how it can be strong. If you don't wanna spend your RR it, either use imediately or Spread. This gets inside the case I told you earlier that Royal Roading before having Spread minimizes your possibilities, specially on four man content. Guess what, the DRK would be pretty happy with a Spire.
If you deslike RNG that much, stop playing Astro is always an option you know.
