Think outside the box by gearing up for a encounter that most groups picked apart the first few days while using a sub-optimal raid party set up?http://youtu.be/jC7VnSY702s
Go ahead and look at the video date I'll wait.
Like I said think outside the box like this group did.
Read the description, and notice the party composition, I didn't clear on the first or second week. Point I'm trying too make is it's do-able.I like your condescending tone when you're sooo wrong.
When were groups clearing A1S again? Oh right, July 21st 2015.
Kindly remind everyone how far between that and your video of August 13 is. Go on, we'll wait.
Now if you're gonna invalidate the 3 extra weeks of esoterics gear, there's really nothing to be said other than you're ignorant.
Every time someone tells me "monk's weren't mandatory for T13", I feel that they weren't part of the early progression.
In the heavy magic damage fight of T13, the 10% int down was indispensable. Not taking one meant you needed 10% more health all round, basically. Monk's were also the highest damage at the time, so not taking one was 10% more healing you had to deal with, and more people dying early on because they didn't have the health, and more damage you had to make up across the raid. There's a reason Dark Knight's have int down as well.
It's not a debate. You're pointing to a encounter that was downed pretty fast on the first few days of release, in which this group is already geared when the content was out for weeks. Meaning the DPS should have been able to meet the checks with ease, more so if they were smart and did their weapons first so yeah it's do-able after people get their stuff, which was never debated.
And if you consider this a debate. You're losing pretty bad. T_T As the point is being able to things upon initial release with no job left behind until gear or levels enables them to clear said content. In which case it's still optimal to take a WAR,SCH,WHM instead of inflating your group with sub-par job options Aka PLD, AST if given the choice, unless you're doing it for the challenge. But yeah. When you find the same video, first week, that's when you're on to something. Other than that you're just validating something that's already been said. You can make it work after you're geared. Pretty much relaxes the DPS check.
Note: AST may actually be good now. Haven't really seen it since it's buffs, so don't know where it stands in the hierarchy of things. But was still bad at the time of the making of this video.

Ast can effectively replace a whitemage, at the cost of the mind buff, but raising raid dps.
What you think is a sub par job is your opinion. Someone made an argument saying 2 wars cleared a floor, so yes I agree gear over time does help.
One that is over whelming shared between multiple communities and by SE despite what they say by making adjustments to the classes mentioned in the previous post.As well as backed by tons of data collected by multiple people.

There was a group that cleared T5 with a WAR/WAR comp right before WARs were fixed in 2.1. The point wasn't that they *could* clear it, it was just significantly less optimal, particularly when not fully geared. Which is why WAR got buffed.
PLD isn't completely incapable of clearing all content when the group has enough gear. But the things it brings to a group are less useful than DRK and both are less useful than WAR. This is exacerbated by unforgiving enrage timers and lots of hard hitting magic damage. PLD needs some help.
